Shouldn't Warly's cooking be something that only he can eat?

Please don't do this.

There's infinitely better ways to show that you'd want something changed than to make redundant posts that don't even attempt to provide proper feedback.

Same for you. If you think this post is redundant, just please directly prove why Warly doesn't need these changes, but Winona does

Absolutely. One time, I visited my local restaurant and I said I'll have the carbonara to the waiter. 2 minutes later, the chef told me that anything he cooked, I had absolutely no right eating because I didn't make it myself. I left him a tip and learner a very important life lesson. If someone else cooks the food, you do not have the privilege to eat it.

Man you are absolutely correct. Next time I'm hounded by a varglet and 7-8 hounds, I shouldn't find for Winona's catapults because I don't have "the privilege" to be protected.

Honestly, I'm against the removal of catapult use for non Winonas. But honestly, the characters I play are powerful enough to not need them. It's just a little sad that other characters lose out.

It's no skin off my back personally, but I imagine the people I play with now and then might just drop the game

Whatever, Warly is not related to the beta branch, so I think we should talk on the General Forum.

As a strategy to get everyone to respond positively to my stupid idea, I hereby suggest Warly be allowed to eat everything. Literally vore spider.

But actually the whole point is about the beta branch update. I mean if Klei decides to make almost all items of a character can only be enjoyed by that certain character, yes yes they become unique, but the actual gameplay for each player will be reduced, and the game should be renamed as "DS Alone" than DS Together

LOL I genuinely agree

It’s your responsibility to actually provide evidence and substantiate your argument BEFORE other people provide counterpoints.

I can’t imagine why you’d expect anyone to seriously respond to a post like this; its vagueness helps no one and this sort of mocking tone isn’t conductive to good discussions.

Going back to the topic at hand, while I totally agree with you that yes other players being unable to benefit from a character’s perks isn’t very fun, I don’t think that’s applicable in this case. I still benefit from another winona in the server building catapults, I just need her to be with us when the fight comes, and that’s ok.

Even your previous comparison to wickerbottom’s books works similarly. I’ve had plenty of times where wickerbottom players have both directly and indirectly benefitted me by using their books. As a wormwood main, having a wickerbottom use applied horticulture in the first autumn to help kickstart my seed collection and allow me to grow giants faster is really useful, and her other books can benefit other players as well. Even if I’m not the one directly using her books, I’m still, as you put it, enjoying that character’s items and perks.

The difference is , warly's foods are consumables that are gone when used while winonas catapults are not.

Warly exclusive food dishes

If I worked at Klei (& because the Klei dev team are awesome people who love to playfully screw with their fanbase) I would update the game so Warlys food was exclusive to him for a week, and I’d explain that by stating that he has an extreme pepper belly and loves to put extremely hot spices in every food he eats that the entire cast of the rest of the games weaker stomaches could not handle.

Then YOU get trolled for a Week, and we revert it back to being able to buff his team again.

Also: I’d totally make April Fools day for one day only- Every playable character becomes Wes.

Its almost like Winona has other things that benefit the team, like winbots, spotlights and tape. Though man, woody isnt fair, why cant Wes eat his idols to transform, or why cant wickerbottom use the gym to get a 2x damage bonus.

You can switch to Winona and reap benefits of her catapults and get tons of loot.

You can switch to Warly and reap benefits of his portable cooking pot that can cook special dishes.

You do not cook the dishes as a different character. You already cannot use his cooking pot, and cannot just make one, and switch to a different character with the option of cooking powerful dishes. You need WARLY to cook them. You need to switch to him when they RUN OUT. Winona's catapults DO NOT run out.

Edit: See how Klei does not limit the use of resources that RUN OUT and aren't too powerful because of not being infinite? You can use Winona's tapes, you can use Willow's lighter, you can use Woodie's treeguard idols, you can use wormwood's bramble husks, YOU CANNOT use Wurt's infinite respawning merms, you cannot use infinite Winona's catapults, you cannot use infinite Wickerbottom's books.

Stop it, it's just sad to see so much hate for nothing.

What's the point of being an engineer if nobody else can enjoy your structures?

Not much of a structure but rather a machinery. You're not qualified to use them.

I mean engineers won't let a random civilian use a crane or bulldozer now won't they? That's just recipe for disaster.

there's a difference between operating a crane and pressing a button to turn on an automatic thing, that's like saying that people need to be qualified to use flashlights

That’s sort of what items like hound tooth traps and anenemy’s intended gameplay purposes are for..

Winonas Catapults was just always used as the go to answer because they were most effective..

But I don’t see anyone at all complaining that WX78 can’t share they’re powerful circuit upgrades without a WX78 being in the server.

Yeah they are way too slow for defense anyway. Most use them for farms due to its aoe but idk why there are no other options. Something like houndius shootius is just worse when its post AG!

You could... Use your hands and kill them..?

On an actual serious note, maybe Warly should have one or two dishes that other characters flat out refuse to eat at all, which makes playing as him unique and fun & isn’t just a character you make and bundle foods with.

Also he should get a hilarious synergy with Wes, where if Warly prepares his favorite food (only Warly can by the way…) AND Warly is standing near him while he eats the meal (no creating then swapping to Wes, Sorry!) Then Wes gets insane buffs.

Like that twitchy squirrel in the hoodwinked movie, give ‘em coffee and he goes bonkers!

Come to think of it… Warly is a Chef, perhaps he SHOULD need to be in the server for characters to benefit from his food buffs?

like giving “compliments to the chef”

Bonus points if Klei adds something like the Winters Feast Buffet tables where Warly can prepare food dishes and serve them at buffet tables on trays to buff those who are “feasting”

Hell Yeah I’d totally be down for a Warly rework like that.

Characters can now “sit” in chairs so it even adds to the atmosphere and immersion.

AND I’d like to kindly remind everyone that back when a long time ago Klei said they were very aware of how broken letting Wolfgang benefit from volt goat chad friod or whatever it is called was and they planned to “nerf” that at a later time when they got around to it.

This Post which I just made is a serious warning to the OP- becareful what you wish for… you just might get it.

Not to get overly specific, but it's ironic considering Winona does let everyone use what is essentially a large flashlight, while they aren't allowed to use the more dangerous structure

All of Warly's special recipes should give him at least double the effect. Today he is a portal character like Winona.

Increased damage, protection from cold or heat, protection from rain. It should all have a much greater effect on Warly. His skill tree will arrive and I believe in something like that.
