Moon Quay = Good Idea, fun new concept but terrible execution, the “Island” is too small so you get ambushed by hordes of monkey with no real room to actually dodge or kite them, this Update could’ve been so much more enjoyable if Moon Quay biome would’ve been the size of a standard swamp or the lunar isle..

The Moon Quay is claustrophobic-ly small as an intentional part of its design, you aren't supposed to be able to kite those hordes of monkeys. You have to employ a different stealthier approach, such as coming in the night or winter whenever they're all inside their houses. I personally dock nearby the island at dusk, then quickly row over at night and grab as many banana bushes and palmcones as I can, then get out of there as quick as possible and don't come back until I've got bananas to trade.

I tried to watch but the Twitch player is so bad that I spent 15 minutes loading and a few seconds watching images of what was happening during the stream

Basically bearger, deerclopes, and varg mutate when you kill them post lunar rift now and get a much stronger phase 2. New lunar gear one of which completely shames Walter and his entire lineage. Hail is a thing on the surface post rift now and it hurts you and other mobs there's probably some other stuff I forgot about.

I missed the first few minutes, but I got the impression no skill trees are involved in this right?

No skill trees

I'll have to wait to see what damage will be done, but I'm concerned about hail killing grass geckos and glommer.

It's a great looking update and I'm excited to play it, but brass tacks, it's very scary, as it 1 shot birds and was doing in spiders lickety split.

This sounds like moonstorms at the very start all over again sigh....

Please don't implement stuff that passively kills off mobs klei.. so many players keep pens of mobs.. grass geckos, volt goats, koalafants, catcoons etc.

If hail just straight damages/kills them that's going to be a massive massive problem.

The hail will most likely be localized like many things in the game. For now, if it starts hailing, youll just need to get away from your grass geckos

When the beta drops, someone should test if Above average trees block it (im gonna guess no since they dont block frog rain either)

Oh man that would be great if it's like ant lion sinkhole and Frog rain and you can simply go to an area of your choosing to minimize damage to mob pens, base etc.

Would be a little weird having localised hail only fall over the player though haha

Yes it's used to craft the new stuff like a portable fridge, a insane new ranged weapon, and the reversed version of the scaled furnace.

Sounds promising. I am waiting to see how the ranged weapon works in particular.

It works like Walter's slingshot except it fires like a blowdart and at the same speed as one it uses hound teeth as ammo and deals 68 damage per hit.

yes you can store it in a inventory slot

Holy hell, that sounds insane, cannot wait to get me one of them. How many slots does it hold within?

Also is it like icebox or fridge? As in can it only hold raw cookable stuff like the icebox or anything that a fridge can?

6 slots slows spoilage by 90% from what I'm told

I'd argue it's a upgrade to the bundling wrap which I believed to be impossible.

Ahh 6 slots so not as many as Fridge or Icebox but still insanely useful by the sounds of it.

I strongly doubt it but imagine if it was multiplicative with Ice Chester... like storing it within him applies both spoilage slowing rates.. damn. If so bundling wraps for food might somewhat be a thing of the past.

I mean even if not that's like over 100 days for some foods and dishes.

Only holds crockpot dishes
