And DST does not? earlier you were saying that you can adjust the difficulty in the options via increasing or decreasing threats. Also Relaxed mode in easy mode, Survival is medium, and Lights out is hard. stop contradicting yourself!

Like was stated earlier, if you truley Find no more enjoyment from playing, go find another game. Maybe the thursday update will invigorate you but if not im sure theres other fun games

I hear theres a ton of fun games this year Like Baldurs gate 3, Armored core 6, Legend of Zelda TotK. (Or maybe youre like me and have a cataloge of games you bought but havnt dove into yet)

Get tboi(the binding of Isaac)+all DLCs, pour 1700 hours into the game. and then go back to dst for 3 hours before pouring another 1700 hours into tboi .

Tallbirds, Spiders, Nightmare creatures from insanity and fissures, Nightmare splumonkeys, cookie cutters, mosquitoes, Antlion, Dfly and various other mobs and bosses would like a word. 

They may not come to you but if you get close they're hostile immediately. 

If the game was just hostile creatures seeking you out and coming to your base non stop if would be a completely different game and more similar to wave based onslaught sort of games/game modes.

Go on pub. Coordinate with the Wormwoods and the book readers to grow giant crops.

Tail slap the grown crops. Spin it as a great harvest. It's the best fun.

Allow me to explain: In a Game like let’s say Ark Survival Evolved, It too is a Survival Sandbox, However the key and most VITAL Differences between DST & Ark is that Ark randomly drops hostile creatures into the environment to challenge the players will to live.

These games may be open world Sandboxes, but they’re still SURVIVAL games & they do that by randomly spawning in Dino’s, random zombie encounters, or Minecraft’s Nightfall mob spawns.

DST however…. LMAO, almost everything in the game is peaceful or passive until you attack it.. the ONLY Things that come to directly challenge your survival are Hound Waves/Depth Worms, And maybe Deerclops.

Everything ELSE spawns in a pre-determined location, OR you have to summon it Yourself..

The game contradicts its Survival by focusing almost entirely on Sandbox..

The Moonstorms/Lunar/Shadow rifts are the ONLY content updates I’ve seen that “Try” to give you that open world chaos of random events happening or mobs spawning to attack…

But comparing DST to OTHER Survival Sandbox games feels like a crime to those other survival sandbox games.

Even single player DS did a better job with its two DLC expansions that had the chance for small mobs to spawn from the resources you chop/mine/pluck/flip over/loot etc..

Klei added an Ocean to DST- This should’ve been a Golden Opportunity for random oceanic mob encounters/events… but instead we have a flat bare of any life loading screen between points of interest.

I love Klei, I love the DS franchise.. and I only provide this kind of negative feedback- in hopes that they’ll see it & maybe even make some positive changes someday.

I get that not everyone wants random events, new weather seasons or some other mob to spawn to challenge them besides a 7th day hound wave… but the entire game shouldn’t so easily be able to ignore the “Survival” and focus on just the “Sandbox” either...

I think i get it Mike, I truly do. You don't realise other games can be played. You think dst is the only game on the planet and instead of playing other games for their features you just want said features to be added to dst. Please play an other game and stop asking for every game to be added into dst.

Rude.. but I just want DST to play more like DS & it’s associated DLCs. Is that really too much to ask for?

Going Wortox on public servers with a mod that lets you zoom out farther than other players and teleport-jumpscaring on top of them from offscreen, making some sudden noise via emotes and throwing random gifts at them before vanishing back into the ether is pretty fun.
Social experiments in general.
In general, if you've completed the game, but you really want to keep playing it, make it into a new game.

Honestly this is debatable a lot of games use gimmicks like this where if you want x resource you have to deal with threats that guard them sometimes sure you make it sound really annoying but is it any less engaging than everything just being plain and predictable? No I'm not saying x mob needs to spawn every 5 seconds but it sure would be interesting if say every so often when your mining or something a creature comes out to protect those resources and blocks your progress. Again for someone looking for a more passive experience this probably sounds like a nightmare but for people looking for a more engaging survival experience it makes the world feel more alive and to a extent we do have this in the form of tree guards and lord of the fruit flies

However I'd like to see a more expansive version of this how about more proactive creatures who guard resources and more territorial creatures for each biome you know more than just walk to x resource harvest as much as you want return to base until next resource harvest or boss rush.

While I've not played minecraft I will say hunger works more or less like how your describing in dst as well unless your character is under a special diet food is always nearby so it's incredibly easy not to starve with the only reasons for starvation being other players being greedy/destructive or unwillingness to walk to the nearest food source which should always be close by.

that is actually exactly what i did (except similarly to DST I got Dead God and then stopped playing because I am a robot that follows carrots on sticks)
