Nnumber3 Posted August 10, 2023 Share Posted August 10, 2023 We all know the character roaster is integral to DST, but what if you were forced to remove some, and why? there a couple of rules. A: we are not taking into account their lore significance. B: no Wonkey as it makes it a odd number. Go wild! here's mine: This will be biased, so feel free to disagree! Spoiler Wilson and willow are iconic, it would be like removing Mario and Luigi from Mario Bros. Our first cut character would be Wolfgang, sorry bud, but your ability for double damage is not interesting enough to be kept alongside others. Wendy is also Iconic and is 1 of the most played characters, and since i removed most of the follower characters we still need some, and in this case its for area damage. WX-78 was a hard 1, as he is unique with the circuits, but decided to axe him over wicker, which in my head they were competing with. Wickerbottem is in this weird spot that she is integral to almost all farms, and is fun to play with the cool effects, but maxwell can read the books, which I'm keeping, does that mean i can save a slot as she is technically a swap character like Winona, but i don't think it's enough to warrant deleting her. Woodie was also difficult as he just got his skill tree that made him so much better, but the transformations are not good enough to be kept alongside something like Wanda. I deleted Wes because... he is Wes. I kept maxwell as his gameplay is intriguing enough and a great character. I kept Wigfrid over Wolfgang as she is more interesting and more of a benefit to the team (songs, battle helm, spear, etc.), and life steal is cool. I kept Webber as he is our swarm summoner, and the spider mechanics are fun, hunting for your spiders to add to your army. then I axed 3 characters in a row, Wininoa, Warly, and Wortox. Wininoa because she is only used for her catapults, so it seemed to be a waste of a slot in this situation. I love Warly, but I could not fathom putting him above some other characters, as he has "Wininoa Syndrome." (Switching basically) Wortox is a bit of a controversial one, as most people love him, but I was running out of characters to pick to save, and he got left on the shore I kept Wormwood as we do need a gardening character and his playstyle with the skill tree is fun. Now the last 2 axed characters, wurt and walter. i prefer Webber over Wurt so that's that and Walter... is Walter, people here have already advocated for him to be removed already. he still deserves to be in the game, just not in the situation. Now the last saved character, Wanda, she is so unique in playstyle and fun to play that she had a spot up there when I conceived of this idea. You ever watch a horror movie with the cheerful oblivious character that's Walter it's a necessary trope I'd day. Though that sort of character doesn't just exist in horror but you get the point right? As for who I'd snap it'd be Winona, Wilson, Wolfgang, Wx, and Wortox. No huge justification they just feel boring to me. Webber, because Wurt can already fulfill that role and much more.
