Justice for saladmanders

I could be wrong about this but.. I “think” Klei wants their playable characters to fit into a very specific threshold of damage.

While it’s great for Wormwood to have SOME minions to assist in fights with, he was never designed to be a combat focused character.

In comparison a Max level fully bloomed out Abigail only has 600 max HP. So Of Course a Wormwood who can endlessly summon Saladmanders (after the cap limited ones die off of course) with 900 hp was going to get Nerfed.

Wormwood also has a bunch of other crazy ass perks too like complete rain immunity and forced speed boosts.

Meanwhile Wendy literally only has Abigail, and Abigail doesn’t really do much.

I think it’s “fair” for Wormwood to get these nerfs, but then again.. I’m speaking as a Wendy player so what would I know?

Abigail is the strongest follower in the entire game by a WIDE margin. 

the only one you’re able to remotely heal, deals up to 40 damage an attack, has a “anti gank” shield, aoe damage, and the highest attack speed out of any non player mob.

All of this is Raw Damage output, assuming Wendy is getting a Skill Tree I would prefer that it not focus entirely on Abigail’s damage Output.

Some of Wendy’s Shortcomings include but are not limited to: being unable to kill Birds with Boomerangs due to weaker attack damage without Abigail’s assistance.

If Pipspook and ghosts can disappear into the ground (& Abby too when she dies) then- it would be cool to see a skill tree item added that lets Abby vanish into the ground and pop back up on the bird/rabbit for a surprise attack.

or for Abby to be able to Haunt and change the status of items that a dead human players ghost can, flower to evil flower, pig to Werepig, flip the elemental effect of hounds that are attacking etc.

Wendy has this one AoE trick, and that’s pretty much it.. meanwhile Wormwood is a grab bag of several different tricks.

Very cool ideas i like them!

yeah not being able to kill birds IS pretty annoying

I am okay with the saladmanders being nerfed, i was more pointing out the extreme strength of abigail, as wendy is actually a combat character in my eyes with dps outcompeting even wigfrid unless the boss has enough dps to kill abigail (not many do) 

It's obvious for now that I won't use skill points for the Lunar cultivator perks.

They are so underwhelming. At least Wormwood's carrat dropped leafy meat before, but now it's gone.

I'll gladly find a way to take advantage of them in any way, if they were not part of skill trees.

They should be buffed to become competitve to other useful skills.

Lunar cultuvator skills are extremely confusing to me. They are soooooooooooooooo bad.

The fact that they’re his POST CC alignment perks makes them even worse. Lunar guardian isnt much better tbh.  

Im dumbfounded by the saladmander nerfs. What was the internal discussion and playtesting that led to this decision?

Were klei devs 1 shotting AFW with 3 ripe saladmanders and we just didnt figure it out?
