Wilson's Idle Changes

The recent update made some changes to Wilson's idle animation, and while it's nice that his head isn't flying off his body anymore, I really don't like any of the other changes here. The static face and flat hand make it come across more like a dopey chin scratch than any serious pondering. I get that maybe Klei didn't want to have to make a new glove sprite for the hordes of skins in the game, but I'd much rather have a good animation than a mediocre one I can bling out.

Please Klei! Change it back!

EDIT - added some examples of the new animation with beards.  The fact that his face doesn't flip is really apparent here since hie mouth becomes level with his mustache, and why oh why did they remove the beard-stroking for level 2?

To me the old animation looks more sophisticated and gentlemanly with him holding his chin and turning away to gaze off into the distance rather than simply scratching it and tilting his head a bit, and him stroking his beard at level 2 gives an even split in the occurrence of the two animation types across the four beard levels: the chin-holding for levels 0 and 1, and the beard-stroking for levels 2 and 3.

I do really like that level 1 uses the chin-holding animation rather than the beard-stroking one, as it's rather short, but level 2 is certainly long enough to stroke.

If having to draw new sprites for glove skins is the reason for changing the animation, I'd at least like to see the old animation used when no glove skins are equipped.

One of the best thing about Wilson's rework now lost all it's charm.

Why it can't be like Wx78's idle animation ?

The old one was far more dynamic. I liked it a lot more. The hand pose and face tilt told stories.

Doesn't look like any new sprites are being used in the animation. All the ones being used seem to be generic that all gloves already have.

Thanks for taking a look at that! Now the change seems even more befuddling. It’s almost like they reverted to an earlier draft.

That's what I feel like happened too.

Also, I opened the original Don't Starve, disabled DLCs, just to check, and:

That hand has been there since the start, it's 100% not new.
