For something extremely lore-significant you’d think it’d be more impactful on gameplay. All it does is reset the ruins and be the spawning location. While ofc resetting the ruins is useful, you’d think the gateway would have more new gameplay than just conveniently letting you farm more resources. And no, the forge and gorge don’t count. I’m referring to content that strictly revolves around interacting with the gateway in-game. A lot has changed since Things could just be taking longer than anticipated. Unless I'm misremembering, the original idea for the character refreshes was 1 a month & they'd be done in a year. Maybe something similar is happening with that gateway image, other things could be pushing it back. Honestly my biggest complaint with this arc is “them” never returned. Hope they do something with the Lunar Gratto this year. Was such a cool part of the Return of Them arc and then it was never completed.
