what, or where will Wagstaff bring us next?

Recommended Posts

after the cures of moon quay was released and I saw the trailer I knew that Wagstaff's holographic scout was not gonna give up trying, he gonna start slapping unstable portals all over the constant,  I suspect the devs are up to something, they might be trying to slowly implement the tropical experience mod by having Wagstaff pour the realms of shipwrecked and hamlet (maybe even the gorge and forgethough more portals. but this could be an opportunity to bring fan-made items, characters, and biomes without messing with the lore. why don't we debate something worth our time other than if Wagstaff will get taller the more powerful he gets, I don't even want to imagine that..... how am I supposed to transition to asking for people to debate about what worlds, mods, and DLC/LTM items should be added? eeh they figure out

I want to see “crazy alternate universe shenanigans” if the forge exists in the constant for example, or in another dimension of the constant: perhaps we can have Wagstaff pull a part of that reality into the current realm either intentionally or by accident..

I want him to open the portal, and Mumsy,Pipton, Billy,Sammy,Swamp Pig and Pig Elder with many of their entourage (gelatinously bringing wheat and new dishes with them) got out of it, it would be wonderful if we helped them restore and rebuild their island, as it was with Babushka Pearl.these characters have sunk into my soul very much.

I started sailing the ocean a lot more recently and i think it would be cool if there were more islands and things to visit, especially a volcano or volcanic land of sorts. To go off your forge idea, would be cool to have like the remains of a forge battleground with pugna there and maybe it can be used as an arena to fight for prizes daily

Wagstaff is a little bit ...  arrogance of modern poeple's high self-confidence in science, believing that he can recognize and domesticate everything. This kind of thinking is exactly what is denied in Cthulhu culture, and the backstory of don't starve is deeply influenced by Cthulhu culture, so I guess it's hard for wagstaff to succeed. But he is also the epitome of the tenacity of human beings in the face of all kinds of supernatural beings on the crazy world of the constant, so I also don't want him to lose too much in the showdown with shadow creatures or other magical monsters.
From wagstaff's dialogue in DS and his performance in DST, it can be seen that he is too focused on imagining the future and technological progress, but does not care about those who really need help at the moment, which the survivors. This kind of lofty ambition is a common problem of many people who think that they are working for the welfare of all mankind but lack practicality. If wagstaff does end up getting a failure, that would be a good reason.

Since Wagstaff is still in the constant atm, he'll probably make more portals as you said. Since we have 2 more main updates left this year, that's probably will be what the updates would be about.

Since we know that the portal Wagstaff used in the moon quay trailer is what he used in WX's and Winona's short to connect to the constant, I'd say it would be reasonable to assume that holo-Wagstaff is trying to connect to constant to the real world, since he has expressed interest in bringing things from the constant to the real world (like nightmare fuel).

Personally, I wouldn't like content mods to be added into the base game for plethora of reasons. Rather, something unique, something new.
