I think 6 slots is perfectly fine.

Recommended Posts

I don't think we really need 7 slots. 6 is a nice even number and it keeps things simple. If the light module was 3 slots instead of 4 then that would sort of allow the builds most people want with 7 slots, but without actually needing a 7th slot. Plus, if there's a 7th slot, then most combos like 3 2.0 speed, 1 1.0 speed, or two 3 prongs will always have an empty slot that currently can only be filled by the basic health module. The only people it would benefit are those who like to minmax their builds, and I don't think that's who klei should balance the character for.

6 is perfectly fine as is, it's even, it's balanced, and it make it so you can't have moggels and a temp module at the same time. You need to actually choose between them instead of making the "perfect" build. Just make sleeping recharge faster so it's easier to swap between builds and we're golden.

Edit: Also, the only builds I can think of that would cleanly fill a 7 slot board is two 2 prongs and one 3 prong, or one 4 prong and a 3 prong. Everything else either has one spare, or needs a 5 prong, which no longer exists at the time of writing. Meanwhile with 6 slots, most combos make a clean 6 unless you mix 2 prongs and 3 prongs.

actually the "perfect" build now is moggels+speed2.0, not much reason to choose others

it is a acceptable choice, and it's probably the answer to the game, I'll try to get used to that

let's hope new circuits will be added to the game during next several content updates

that is, in fact, not the perfect build

Like I said, there is no "perfect" build because everyone's definition will differ. I think this is a perfect fine phenomenon, gives people something to consider.

perfect means best/powerful.

best is 3x speed

1 speed 1 moggles is the most convenient while still being powerful, but falls short of 3x speed

I'm a beffalo rider 3x speed alone can not beat a beffalo, not with a cane either.

if your beef can beat 3x speed cane and magi, i'll buy that beef from you

Putting aside the fact that you can't really talk about "best" in a sandbox game where you make your own goals, that 3rd speed chip only offers a 7% increase in speed. I'd certainly take an extra 150 health over that.

oh, is that so?

I'll keep the following words to my own, and sincerely wait to see how many people agree with you and your 3x speed

You know.. Technically Klei could add 14 slots and it wouldn’t be OP but they would have to rework how circuits work.

Have you ever tried to plug the wrong wattage fuse or lightbulb or charger up? Most the time it doesn’t get enough power, or it gets too much power and it blows the fuse.

For that to work in DST.. Klei would have to Color Code each equip-able slot (for example Green, Red, Yellow, Blue) and then re-design the circuits so that they can only be applied to their respective color slot so if Klei wants say Speed, and the Moggles like ability to be Blue circuits- The player will then need to choose between infinite night vision or a speed boost. You wouldn’t be able to plug a Yellow Circuit into the Blue Slot… or- maybe you could….

But there could be consequences.

If I worked at Klei (I don’t but if I did) i would give you more slots than you ever asked for, but to make sure your not just going to stack speed… i would force you to only be able to use the appropriate fuse color- Or Else.

No.

Here’s a tip, I use the shop cat emote as the most honorable highest prestige emote I can possibly give as a reaction, so whenever someone replies to my posts with ShopCat- it means they approve of the post with the highest seal of approval.

The Klei Dev Team was once asked if Ancient Guardian would get reworked: And one of the devs reacted to that users message with ShopCat teasing there was still a rework for AG coming.

So.. to use ShopCat in a negative way is insulting to not just me, but to that dev who reacted with ShopCat.

Anyway- the fact your saying No. proves that people are uncomfortable when they’re forced to make choices.

Has it occured to you that, as a robot, WX-78 would understand the importance of things like "Wattage' and "Compatability", and thus would design all of their circuits to be compatible with their hardware?

6 slots is good, it gives players a lot of options for combinations while also making them choose. You can't get night vision and infinite heat in Winter, you have to choose which one to benefit from more. I'd rather have more 1-slot circuits for minor perks and stat boosts.

yes you can. that's why wes is objectively worst, wilson is better than wes and wolfgang is better than both. There is no situation where that is not the case.

health is meaningless when there's armor in the game

it doesn't matter how many people agree or not. the whole forum could agree wes is best, that doesn't mean wes is best.

by the way 3x speed cane wx is faster than glossamer beefalo, without considering the drawbacks of using a beefalo.

I agree, health is neat, but some other minor perks would be nice to have, like the other stats, or some other unique thing.

Again, please keep things civil, I really don't want this thread to get hit by the lock hammer.

6 slots is fine

reworked wx is already way better than old wx

if you needed 300+ all stats, you were bad at the game

OOP, finally someone said it. Stats don't make a difference whether you raise them or lower them. Stats aren't dynamic in and of themselves, it's how they interact with other variables that makes them interesting (these modules don't do that).

Though maybe SOMEONES out there will use them and that's their business.

Hi, I have about 3 Mike shopcats, so what do I get? What can I turn these in for?
