I got my first bill with the new Wolfgang and it's already almost broken with about 2-3 days of rowing with it. As of this beta, the Malbatross no longer drops any special blueprints and all the crafts related to its drops are available from the Alchemy Engine and Think Tank. That change is a bit unfair to Malbatross in my opinion. While it ultimately is most stable way to get its feathers and beak, Loot Stash can give her beak and her feathers are a rather common find from sunken treasures. Since she neither drops blueprints nor an advert, all of her stuff (Winged Sail, Waterfowl Can and Malbatross Quill) can be made without ever summoning and fighting her. I never thought it made sense for feathery canvas to be a blueprint but I wish at least either one of winged sail blueprint, waterfowl can blueprint or malbatross quill advert was left as a boss drop. That provides an interesting alternative for those who want to passively get feathers from sunken chests rather than fight Malbatross, just like how you can get fur tufts without fighting Bearger. Not everyone who plays this game wants to fight bosses, and frankly sunken chests arent the most reliable, so I'm certainly still going to beat that big blue bird myself.
