WX-78 Rework Ideas

Why can't they coexist? I've been reading the ideas of modules and upgrades with the assumptions that they'd be crafted with gears.

I would imagine they would be crafted with Gears. I think what I meant to say there was no matter what (even with my currently less than favorable view of modules and imagining a rework without them) Gears are going to have to be in some way WX' big thing, just as they are now. Even if it's just because of the Gears=Robots general thought.

I think they would end up having to rework Gear availability as mentioned previously in this thread, either that or make WX a late game character.

Also, me and the wife are talking, and we were under the impression that WX was created by Wilson in the original lore. Are we mistaken, or has that changed?

I'm not sure what you mean by "original lore". Wx-78 has always been hinted to be one of Wagstaffs creations, and they recognize each other in their quotes(Wagstaff examining Wx on the throne, Wx examining Wagstaff in DST)

I didn't know Wagstaff was available in the original Don't Starve (honestly I never played the Story mode) and I've had pretty much zero exposure to Hamlet. I kinda always assumed Wilson made WX.

But yeah, I watched the Winnona cinematic just now, saw the WX schematic in the factory.

Edit: I'll explain myself with this thread lol. All speculation in here, but there was a time when there was no Wagstaff (that didn't stop people from theorizing the existence of someone other than Wilson being responsible for WX)-

wilson's short doesnt show anything that can make us think he was creating a robot neither able to create one

i might be wrong but since almost the beginning we knew that the radios have a similar name to WX 78 so the assumption is that they author of the gramophone and radios was the same than the creator of WX
