So far almost every character rework has introduced a new crafting tab exclusive to the character. Since Wolfgang's rework is a month away, I would like to see how the community feels about the highly probable addition of a Wolfgang specific tab.

(PS. I know my polls aren't on @GetNerfedOn's level so cut me some slack)

It’s sold to me and advertised as a Survival Crafting Game.

So without turning this into a TL:DR- Yes. Every single character in the entire game- with the Sole exception of Wortox have crafting tabs.

(I’m not counting Non-Reworked characters like Wilson, WX78)

Whats a crafting tab? Well-

Should you be dumb enough to let Maxwells Codex Umbra, Wendy’s Abigail Flower, Wickerbottoms Librarian books etc be stollen away from you by an Enemy in PvP (yes that mode still exists) that crafting Tab is how you will look at the recipe required to create a new Codex, Flower, etc..

Crafting tabs give characters Flavor- something new and unique to them & their personality, even the teaser image obviously shows a new type of “sack” which the sack itself would probably be a Wolfgang exclusive Craftable.

Crafting Tabs in a game advertised & sold as a Survival Crafting Game isn’t just logical- It’s pretty much expected.

Obviously winona should lose all of her crafts, that way she wont be such a “pick and swap” character

Orrrrrr she could be the only one able to refuel her generators

aww dont put yourself down like that; in fact, i must applaud you for making this poll when I failed to ;)

on topic, im of the common opinion that mechanical changes to a character's playstyle are most appreciated/noted in new ones or reworks. For instance, Wormwood is best known for their health and planting mechanics, not for the bramble trap/husk.

Crafting tabs are whatever for me.

What I like is character-specific craftables. It feels nice, as if every survivor brings something with them to the base

Character specific craftables are what the post is about.

im of the opinion that new mechanics are generally better than just craftables, webbers rework for instance would have sucked with just the spider cookies for instance, but craftables can be a way to introduce mechanics like the den decorating kit allowing people to make pens and store their spiders.

but sometimes i feel like a whole crafting tab can be a little superfluous. All wendy really needed from her crafting tab was a way to heal abigail, and maybe an equivalent to nightshade nostrum. But those could’ve been achieved without a crafting tab. Hell one option could’ve been rubbing mourning glorys on food then abigail can eat it for triple thr health gains (spices dont work) thats not to say the potions dont work, i just feel like an entire crafting tab wasn’t completely necessary yknow?

Those Ectoherbology potions can be crafted and dropped on the ground to have various effects- in particular Vigor Mortis which will speed up the movement speed of any dead player who turns into a ghost and haunts them.

while it is “niche” and probably won’t see much use- you can actually leave these things laying around the map and use them as speed boosts back to the florid Postern to revive in endless mode servers.

Its also a very “Wendy” thing to have.

The potions ALSO make cool base decorations for a Hallowed Nights base build and well wouldnt you know we just got a potions lab as an alchemy engine skin just a few days ago.

I feel like Wigfrid got short shafted in her rework, the “notebooks” are boring.. they don’t add anything to a bases decor they’re just extra fluff on a character who the forums claimed was quote “fine as is.”

Wigfrid went from being my second favorite character to being somewhere Below WES (he’s my fourth favorite)

Just because Wigfrids rework left me wanting something a bit more.

Using Wes as an example- he got a temporary walking cane, a sanity party, a pretty neat looking decorative hat that has actual gameplay uses, new decorative balloons and just overall felt like he got genuine new content.

Wigfrid on the other hand.. I feel she would’ve been fine without the scrolls and just got some cool new combat/mobility abilities like Woodie got.

I would love to see someone’s base that actually uses Wigfrids stagecraft scrolls as part of their base decor- but for now I just shove those things into a storage box and forget they exist.

Ectoherbology potions on the other hand can be thrown around near Mad Science lab to look like potion bottles.. if I wasn’t playing WURT in this world here- I would replace the lava canisters with actual Ectoherbology potions.

The Sisturn also makes a great handmade graveyard set piece like so:

In short- When a crafting tab is done right  (like Webber’s spider dens, Winona’s Spotlights, Wes’s Multitude of different pretty balloons, Willows Bernie/Ashley dolls and lighters) it allows a character to add their own personality into “Base Decor” and when that crafting tab is done horribly horribly wrong- you question its entire existence..

I can definitely agree that theres some value in the idea of a ghost highway, maybe even do that with boats to get to the lunar isle without having to sail (jkjk). And decorating a base is a very fun use for crafting tab items, your base looks fantastic.
i was arguing mechanically it wasn’t 100% necessary to have a crafting tab, not that i have a problem with her having one or her getting her buff.

People that disregard Winona as a pick & swap character usually bring that suggestion up but that would do more damage to her creations than helping her playercount. One of her strengths is is the ability to help her teammates with her creations. When you make an elaborate trap area, you'd like everyone to be able to benefit from it, if it can't replace other trap areas for the team then what good is it? You'd have to be at base with everyone in every hound attack.

As a Winona main, I think she is at a very good spot, and only improvements for her would come from new additions to her crafts and abilities rather than restricting what she can build right now.

A bit of yes, a bit of no.

Yes in that unique Craftables add some more personality to the world; evidence of the characters presence, more ways to approach the game that fit with their unique themes and gameplay mechanics.
No in that...it shouldn't be the focus unless their design and gameplay is actually focused around it.

Of course, Winona always ends up being an example...
Good concept.
Needs help.

Hopefully that comment about Winona getting some attention since Wagstaff showed up amounts to something; I actually played her more when she was Wilson 2.0. If I'm being honest...
Her hunger mechanic gives me the same bad countdown timer vibes that Gorge did. The terror of an approaching deadline, no matter how small.
Might still play her because I like her design concepts, but her benefits just aren't enough to balance out that feeling as-is...

there is nothing wrong about it and it feels like this topic is trying to stir trouble where there is none

This is a very rude thing to imply, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and those that possibly disagree with you don't have to be silenced for your comfort. If you or others are unable to have a normal conversation and express your opinions without being aggressive I'm not the one to blame.

I was not aware of this thanks for the info!
