So...why can other players still attack Abigail?

I never really understood the point of other players being able to attack Abigail. What purpose does it serve other than abusing her shield mechanic? If that still works, that is. 

I've seen it happen on public servers where other people will just start attacking Abigail for no reason at all. It makes sense for Wendy herself, as she can attack Abigail to skip the animation for unsummoning her which can be helpful in a pinch, but for other players to be able to attack her frankly baffles me.

Probably a mechanic for PvP servers, but if that was the case, why can we still attack her even if PvP mode was turned off?

I agree, this mechanic makes no sense, and this is why Klei should remove it from worlds that don't have PvP enabled

When people ignore what people are saying and refuse to dismiss or calm Abigail because she is killing things she shouldn't be I am killing her to make her stop. If you see someone hitting Abigail dismiss her and ask why they were doing it.

I imagine its because she has the "mob" tag and not a "player" tag. 

Shes not really an extension of Wendy, more like a summoned creature. 

Maybe they could make so if a player can't attack Wendy than they cant attack abigail either.

She isn't evil, she's a playful, fun sister, if Wendy read this, she'll be pulling out her knife real soon :^(

The only reason she could be evil is because she had anger issues when she was younger (haha)

You know kinda unrelated but when the webber refresh first started there were a group of people trying to kill my spiders to troll me thinking they wouldn't fight back the end result was so extremely funny but yea people are going to attack her just to be malicious.

This in most cases.. I’ve had people try to attack Big Bernie while playing as Willow as well. If the player is that “new” to the game then they see them as “Monsters” chasing after Wendy or Willow.. and their first instinct is to Attack.

When WURT first came out I had this same problem with people unfamiliar with Wurt attacking my Merm Follower.

The REASON these things can be attacked is for PvP and just like with Ark Survival Evolved any modes that are NOT PvP have to suffer for so called “proper PvP balance”

it’s literally WHY the Thylacoleo in Ark can no longer climb walls of other players- in PVP this was game breaking but in PVE it just allowed you to quickly scale over some obstacle someone put in the way and continue to your own base yet… because it was breaking PvP it had to be nerf’d which also impacted PVE.

Its sad but as long as there’s PvP I doubt Klei has any intentions of changing any of it.

What I find HILARIOUS though is when a noob smacks Abigail without an armor and most the time just with an Axe because they haven’t figured out how to make spears, then Abigail unleashes her fury on them making them immediately regret it.

I have seen ppl many times attack Abby.  In the fight with Klaus she can kill the deer.  Also, in the fight with Dragonfly if you are farming scales Abby is needs to go.

Just one friend killed Abigail twice during some mod test, just because he was bored. Yeah, he ignored when I asked to stop, and Abby wasn't doing anything harmful. So annoying.
