[Game Update] - 474141 and 474321

Hi everyone, 

Today’s hotfix has a few bug fixes we wanted to get out, as well as an optimization we hope will address a specific performance issue some users have been experiencing since the Breath of Fresh Air update. 

We’re continuing to explore performance improvement opportunities, but wanted to get this one out sooner than later to get the needle moving in the right direction.

Changes

  • Updated Russian localization

Fixes

  • Potential fix for issue causing lasting performance impact after opening the research screen.
  • Fixed Pull Back the Veil achievement.
  • Base Game Only
    • Worldgen: Fixed an issue causing extra space to be unnecessarily reserved around world edges.
  • Spaced Out! Only
    • Outhouse and Hand Sanitizer can be stocked while rocket building restrictions are in effect.

Hotfix 474321

  • Spaced Out! Fixes
    • Fixed a crash on load for saves where rocket interiors had been rebuilt.
    • Fixed crash that could occur when a rocket enters a Chlorine Cloud.

Ah ha! That explains why the game seemed to run fine every time I first loaded it up but performance would get worse later on.

I would expect that one is still being looked at. They should have all the data and saves needed. But better a good fix than a rushed one.

Sadly it didn't do much to fix the overal performance drop after the merge.

But it's progress nontheless. At least it won't be way worse for some after opening and closing the research menu.

they to have some optimization if you spread game stuff to different places.

but if you build all the stuff to same place then that will not work.

anyway

if they could fix that mouse fps issue then game would pop up another 30-50  fps. at-least in my pc

Oh right that was the case before yes. Where in my base i was looking at the busiest area on fastest speed it was 40-50 fps. 

But when i wandered away from my base and looked at the Fog of War it was back to 60 fps.

After BOFA this was no longer the case 30-20 fps everywhere on save with same base.

 

But still in the same base i had way better performance even when looking at the busiest area. More than one cause for the FPS drops after Merge is most liekly.

We've just added a couple more fixes for Spaced Out! in hotfix 474321

Spaced Out! Fixes

  • Fixed a crash on load for saves where rocket interiors had been rebuilt.
  • Fixed crash that could occur when a rocket enters a Chlorine Cloud.

This fixes crashes with messages relating to Assert failed/OrbitalMechanics

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I noticed, that a fridge inside a rocket is not cooling it's content if access is restricted.

Totally unrelated: love the new backgrounds for rockets depending on their location. Perhaps on could add features of the rocket itself?

Good catch, this will be changed in the next public testing update.
