Small suggestions thread before beta is over on celestial champion and the storm.

Overall I like this update but the only thing holding it back is probably not knowing what is considered balanced this late in the game after fighting crabking.

cons/maybe needs changing:
1. The final loot is a crown that is lack luster even if you keep adding additions to it.
2. Phase 2 of the boss got changed for some reason and getting in to attack seems unnecessarily unforgiving.
3. Woodie needs a curse prevention while helping wagstaff or fighting the new boss.

suggestions:
1. Make the boss drop a tool that mitigates tedium like a pitchfork that does 3x3.

This reminds me of that infamous thread about a aoe pitchfork being op due to turf fuel...........

But in all seriousness I totally agree that they shouldn't leave the boss drops this way. FW drops 2 Niche use items (bone helm and thurible), one generally good item (bone armor which is probably the analog to the crown), and resets the ruins. The new boss needs a little more, but then again those FW drops weren't added at the same time as the FW was released from what I've heard.

Also the FW drops the fossils upon death, but you still have to get the heart and key back. I think you shouldn't have to completely start over to start the boss, maybe just get a ruined version of the summon thingy that gets smashed by a meteor and have to repair it with similar materials, kinda like FW.

The 2nd phase is the most fun because of it. I dont like that they completly removed his melee hit and the spike one doesnt hurt you unless you are hit by the spikes which is very rare

How about using the bee queen system? Give the boss a special consumable everyone would like to have:

EG: an item to prepare “moon cake” which upon eating it, makes you move faster and deal bonus damage to shadow creatures. Like shipwrecked’s coffee, except that every time you kill the boss you can prepare 6, and the effect of drinking it lasts 2 days. All late game players could be interested to stack on those, speed is the most OP stat in the game.

Another other option would be a consumable item, like a “moon amulet” which is basically an improved life giving amulet: it resists 5 uses to haunt and revive instead of one, and when you revive with it, you are invulnerable and untargetable for 10 seconds (like the spawn protection effect) plus 3 greater gestalts are summoned to fight hostile mobs around you for 30 seconds. Wearing it makes you immune to all sleep effects (bearger included)

Both could also apply as they are not mutually excluding.

Make a setting where you can turn off 'DING' noises. I swear, it really annoys and tires people I know. Or at least replace it with something more soothing and gentle than sharp and loud when you pick up stuff being like:
DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING  You get the point.

I think a new weapon might be cool as another boss drop, especially one with range. There aren't a whole lot of options for truly ranged combat in the game currently beyond boomerangs, blow darts, and Walter's slingshot, so maybe a staff that shoots lasers similar to what the champion does in phase 3 would be cool. Alternatively, it could call down glass meteors similar to the volcano staff from Shipwwrecked, or summon the moon lighting from the storms. I'm honestly pretty content with what the crown offers so far, as once the altars are assembled it just comes down to doing the moon storms again to get another one.

A moon-sword that can melee and wind up ranged energy blasts/shockwaves would be cool

I like the idea one of the other forum-goers mentioned about how to fix that; having Mushcake prevent transformations under a full moon. You would most likely want to make it for the event as a different character anyways in order to stave off gestalt sleep effects for the fight.
