timmy-t
I apparently have a blocked pipe in my water sieve/carbon skimmer setup, but I'm too much of a noob to figure it out. Can anyone help?
Soulwind
Has it shut down? Reading as a blocked pipe isn't unusual. A skimmer typically only uses a fraction of the sieve throughput, which is sometimes hard to see.
SharraShimada
Does it have sand to sieve? If not, it stops. Is there CO² for the skimmer to process? If not it will not take in fresh water, the input pipe will block, and so the output pipe cant empty either, because there is no space for it. ExEvolution
You need to have some gaps in the piping to allow it to flow. If you have a duplicant with Plumbing unlocked, empty 2 or 3 pipe segments to give the liquid in the pipes room to flow. Or you can just add a tank to the loop which will give plenty of room as long as you don't fill the tank completely.
Gurgel
5 hours ago, ExEvolution said: You need to have some gaps in the piping to allow it to flow. Exactly. Liquids and gases in pipes move only if there is room to move to. That is why a loop that is full will stall. This is a limitation of the simulation in ONI, i.e. something you have to know. Yunru
Easiest (permanent) fix would be to install a reservoir somewhere in the loop.
TheMule
Deconstruct the bridge and extend the top pipe to the left then down to the skimmer intake. That should add one empty segment to the pipe.
cezarica
Or build a bridge with a single pipe segment on it's output, deconstruct the bridge and then empty (or deconstruct and mop the floor, up to you and skills your dupes have) the pipe. Now you got an empty pipe segment in your system. Easy!
