why moleworm burrows can store insane ammount of items but pirate stash delete items to prevent lag?? i dont know about coding but doesnt seem logical to have such bad design to prevent lag (like there will be 48590 pirate stash in the map) when in the caves you can have many burrows storing several stacks of items

IMO it should only delete junk items like twigs, cutlasses, ect.

NewHome is confirmed as Non-Canon

Well, there's a question.

Where did people get this from? I've seen people say it a bunch since the game was announced, but never a source.
It seems more like something the community came up with due to not liking the game previews.

New characters, creatures, events and locations did not participate in the main lore of the DST.

Although DST also suffers from this... Basically, this is believed due to the fact that New Home is not being developed by Klei.

Mostly where the problem arises with people saying that it's 'confirmed'.
There's nothing any more conflicting in it than, say, not seeing the Moonbase in DS, or Shipwrecked not being an explorable area in DST. They're all 'canon', they're just separated by being relevant in different games.

Far off from being "confirmed", but yea, that seems to be the gist of it.
...a little weird given that it's all ultimately under the same parent company anyway. Not sure why people divide the two. (Well, 4 in this case. Corporate shenanigans are fun.)

Some people associate the content in the game as unique and which cannot be anywhere else, although there is no proof of this.

Many people mistakenly think that DST is a sequel... And this is a spin-off...

And New Home hasn't even come out yet.

Pretty sure Klei themselves confirmed NewHome as being Non-Canon in the very same controversial announcement post for the game?

The sequel continues the plot of the last work and keeps the main characters on the 1st plan.
In the spin-off, the role of the main characters is given to minor and episodic characters.

Do we still have the main characters Wilson and Maxwell in DST ?
No, which means it's not a sequel.

If you think about it, but often sequels of different games are not really sequels, but spin-offs that are falsely called sequels.
The world is not ready to find out what spin-off is yet.

It is 100% that. In many many cases also with a heavy dash of the more unspoken (and really gross) reason that people hate anything DST-related to come out of China by default, regardless of its quality.

Newhome is an installment in the Don't Starve series, it's canon by default and you're just free to ignore its lore in x or y regard like any other game.

???????????

ds has wilson go free maxwell from throne

dst has charlie controlling the world around the survivors while the moon lands on the constant (very vague but only due to being incomplete compared to ds)

wilson and maxwell are still very much a main characters, both being protaginists in nearly every animated short, and if you don't want animated shorts to count then wilson/maxwell don't count as main characters in ds either.

Wilson and Maxwell are literally the only characters who participate in all DLC's and adventure mode.
In DST, they became supporting characters.
The main characters now... Charlie... And Wagstaff? ...
all the survivors have a secondary role in the plot.

the lack of confused emote here sucks

anyways

no

they aren't main characters, more of antagonists if anything, which while technically does mean main characters, they aren't the main characters, not the protagonists

how does having different antagonists make it not a sequel?

it must be miserable living life thinking a majority of media sequels are just 'spin-offs' and refusing to enjoy said media because of rose-tinted glasses

And so what ??? You're allergic to changes ??? You're not making any sense.

They became supporting characters because they both know they need to survive.

Charlie, ruler of the nightmare throne because she made a smart move by following Wilson through the Adventure mode, and Wagstaff is continuing his studies with the constant, he's been always studying. Just because he's not playable makes you sick ??

Sorry if there is some character development, I understand it's harsh for me too oh myy gaaah theee chaaanges.... the unbearable chaanges !! ;-;

Then why isn't it a spin-off? A spin-off may happen in the future, but it won't be a sequel.

If we consider DST not from the point of view of the plot, but from the point of view of what the game is and its gameplay. Then this is a standalone multiplayer expansion fo DS.

Why gameplay is not a sequel ? Because it's a multiplayer game.

Charlie was an episodic character. Now she looks like the main character of the story, which develops and the whole plot of the DST revolves around her.
In recent updates, Wagstaff has also begun to influence the world.

So, because that a game got character development, new content ideas, logic stories, and more... is not a sequel simply because it got multiplayer and looks SOMEWHAT similar to the first game, is not a sequel  ? Are you EVEN listening to yourself ???

Can someone walk me through a step by step process of exactly what all I need to do to activate Lunar & Shadow rifts in my world the intended way? I have them on in day one worlds because- Well to be quite frank about it, that’s just too much new gameplay content to have locked behind so many obscure dragged along tasks.

But I want to go through the process atleast once (so I can unlock the dumb character Affinity skill trees..) , I’ve already killed Pearled Crab King and obtained the thing from under the Sea…

But the rest of everything I need to do is Obscure as **** so if SOMEONE would post a progression tree for both Lunar & Shadow rift unlocking that would be very helpful to me.. thanks! :wilson_love:

You can just read the wiki, it's pretty detailed

https://dontstarve.wiki.gg/wiki/Rifts#Lunar_Rifts

You can also watch videos on YouTube, I'm sure there are tutorials covering that
