TheMule
Hi guys, quick question... What tools do you use to make short videos to describe how a build works? Can you grab just a small portion of the screen (I don't need a full HD video of how the lavatories work)? My goal is to make a short video/animated gif to attach to the forum to showcase 5 - 30s of the workings of a build, or for bug reporting, you get the idea... sheaker
On Windows 10 You can easily use GameBar from Xbox application. It can capture video with really good quality without visible efficiency lose. You can enable GameBar with windows + G. To record press windows + alt + R. This is for full screen recording. To capture particular part of screen You can use Office PowerPoint. There is a feature for screen recording there. nakomaru
I use OBS for videos and LICEcap for gifs on Windows. ScreenToGif looks neat. avc15
I use shotcut because it's super easy to make minor edits, do a fade-through, crop, add annotations, capture & edit voice. For the source video I just use nvidia (you get native capture with ATI cards too) Still open source as far as I know. Can be used for youtube videos as well as animated gifs.
