dan2337
Not sure but I suspect this is a bug. I constantly get "Starvation" even though no one is stuck and I have piles and piles of food.
Le0n1des
Check out the food permissions. Maybe got something disabled
natanstarke
Nop it is happening by lack of enough dowtime for the dupe to get back to base to eat.
FantasticMoose
It could simply be a dupe running low on calories every day just before he eats. I think the starvation warning shows up at 500 calories left, though i'm not quite sure. If your dupes are just eating their daily fill of 1000 calories, you can stay in a starvation situation forever without it actually mattering, as long as the dupes has time to eat every day. To fix this issue, if that is indeed the problem, you put the dupe on a schedule with 2 breaks in a day at 2 blocks each, then he'll fill his calories up to 3k over a few days. Actually, it shows at 1000 calories left. So if they eat 1000 per day, you will have the warning quite often...
Mutineer
Yes, your dupes traveling too much. BTW, you can ignore this warning, as when dupe calories fall below 1000 triggering starvation warning they run to your mess hall and eat. You can either remove this message by giving dupes more break time or ignore it. Ignoring cause risk you will ignore the message when you run out of food. So if they eat 1000 per day, you will have the warning quite often... Dupes pick one food item each time they eat. Early on it`s mealwood with like 800 calories each. This means they get only 800 per cycle so eventually it goes below 1000 and they have to eat during the day. Actually i think dupes should stop work to eat at higher amounts like 1500 or 1200 or keep it the same just make the starving notice appear below 800 so you won`t get a warning everytime a dupe gets hungry. You don`t get one for bladder when they go pee during worktime or when they go catch breath (only when they go uder 50% breath). To make it consistent they should go eat before the warning happens. chemie
Actually, you can get the "hungry" status at 3,300 calories (with the medium hungry difficulty setting)
EnderCN
I get this message a lot when my dupes are using the latrine. I think maybe it is just a timing thing where they prioritize using the bathroom over eating and get the message before they eat.
Nebbie
I've had this happen recently with a dupe who was in a triage cot and spent all his time trying to use a lavatory but then running out of air from carbon dioxide issues, so he'd go back to the ladder, and then finally he'd decide to go back to the triage cot and repeat the loop, instead of actually using the lavatory (dupes go to relieve themselves before eating). Eventually he managed to just eat, and then later healed up.
Lurve
Do you see that you have one sick dupe? I'll bet it's slimelung, and they're caught in a loop of grabbing food and dropping it to gasp for air on their way to the table.
SeeHam
If your dupes get distracted while eating, they most probably won't refill their stomach in time. For example, your great hall are lack of oxygen, dupes get out of breath while eating, thus they stop eating and take some breath somewhere . Another example is your food are so split up that they eat only small packets and then search for another small packets like in early game when you don't have time to sweep all the stray mealwood. Maybe your food are small packets of different freshness? thus they dont grab that much to fill their stomach.
