Making salt water?

IMO once salt has been dug out and drops into water or if it’s dropped into water it should start dissolving into the water. The same way slime and polluted dirt off gas PO. At a high enough concentration salt water should turn to brine.

Unfortunately matter being transformed by contacting is not implemented in this game and would still be a long way to go probably.

Otherwise you will see chemical reactions like fire or corrosion.

Unless I misunderstand how off gassing works. Is this not the “exact” same thing? Rather then the requirement being pressure the requirement be water?

Ofgassing creates new gas 1:1 with the mass removed from whatever is offgassing. What people want is more like the deodorizer that absorbs gas and puts out a different one.

Anyway what if we could use salt as fuel for the carbon skimmer. Then instead of polluted water it would produce salt water. All maps have salt currently right?

Depends.

All but Badlands have Salt Water (which is more Brine for Rime, 45 Brine Ice, 20 Brine Water, 25 Salt Water, measured in band width).

But even if they have it, it is finite. Each tile of salt water is worth 70kg of Salt (100:7 ratio) while Brine is 300kg (10:3), that is then times 4 to get the Oxygen and Chlorine out of Rust. On the upside, since 4 worlds lack Rust, it could be solely used for food if I did not miss another use.

A salt water geyser should actually be a must for all but badlands i.e being a POI in Standard and Frozen Ocean subworlds (each world but badlands had one then). Oh and the Deep Ocean subworld should also come with one (making Oceania come with two and the trait come with one).

If I may make another suggestion: The frozen one should be a special slush geysers with brine but adding it into the pool of generic (random) geyser may add yet another water geyser so unless there is code which groups similar geysers together, there would be even more water and less else (previously every ~4 geyser would be some kind of water, now it will be closer to each 3rd, with my request even more unless they make Aluminium Volcanoes, Ethanol Geysers and Void Vents which I'd welcome)
