And what happens if you try pressing the link where it says pure "ooze"?

You get nothing as it doesn't exist. It's just another of many mistakes in the database.

What the database should have read is: "Duplicant are printed from genetic ooze".

"Dozens of trace elements"

Calcium accounts for 1 to 2 percent of adult human body weight.

1% is an order of magnitude too much for "trace element", but dupe bones may just involve some carbon nanotube shenanigans. Carbon is in ooze.

Well, humans start as a single cell, so I don't see the difference really.

The description says they're printed from ooze, not started from it and then grown on other stuff. So they need all their nutrients to be in ooze, though possibly involving throwing away 90% of it.

Depends if you see printing as a parallel of serial process. 3D printing as we know it today is almost exclusively a serial process, so in effect it can be seen an equivalent to human embryo development (at greatly accelerated speed obviously).

The printer is capable of printing a variety of stuff including soild rock. I`m sure it can print bones as well. Don`t forget it`s the "primary" element. A lot of items in the game have mutiple elements in themselves like for example the art canvas contains reed fiber but only shows the primary element.

Anyway. Genetic ooze is the equivalent of "everything an organic critter consisits of" so surely bones are included.
