Webber's Shamlet Mask (repost)

(This is a repost from the EA Suggestions forum since Hamlet is now out of EA... for some reason.)

Webber's shamlet mask doesn't provide any protection against the fog, which is weird because Wagstaff doesn't have this problem with his goggles. Since Webber needs the mask on at all times if he wants to interact or even be near the pig city (which is almost all game), he is severely crippled in Humid season because he has two options:
-Keep the mask on and be slowed down to a crawl

-Put on a Pith hat and make every pig guard aggro onto you.

This normally wouldn't be a problem but with the introduction of Wagstaff which doesn't go through any of these problems with his character-specific head item on, it just feels unfair to Webber.

In simpler words: Can we please have Webber's Shamlet mask give immunity to being slowed down by the fog?

Since when does Webber have goggles ingame?

His "goggles" you mean look more like fake goggles and they aren't made to improve his vision. They don't have any durability and their only usage is to hide Webber's face from other pigs. Wagstaff on the other hand uses real goggles which improve his vision and thus allow him to walk in the fog without problems.

What kind of penalties does Webber have if he would be able to wear his mask 24/7 without penalties?

No: The mask is pretty heavy and doesn't grant any improved vision unlike Wagstaff's goggles, why is he supposed to get immunity to being slowed down?

But you can have some hints how to avoid fog as Webber:

  • Only enter the city right after fog or if the Rainometer tells you that it's not going to rain
  • As soon as fog starts: Hide yourself in any building and stay there till fog ends to avoid being attacked by bats etc.
  • Try to stay in your spider hideout during the foggy season, you won't need your mask there
  • Use some coffee, tea or a Stalking Stick to negate your slow a bit

Character are slowed down in fog because the items they are wearing are too hot and damp, vision doesn't really have anything to do with it. Wagstaff's goggle's don't even let him see any better in the fog.

According to you, Cowl and Shamlet Mask should not grant protection against fog.

Cowl allows you to see through the fog, it also independently provides immunity to the fog slowness effect. Shamlet Mask, a practically required item for Webber, will weigh Webber down despite Wagstaff's precedent. To avoid inconsistency, the mask or goggles should be changed. It's that simple

If anything, there should be a Webber-specific craftable item. There is no reason why Webber should get a perk that no other character has, namely needing no crafting whatsoever against fog. But as others have said, it's not clear that any such nerf is needed, because there are other ways to deal with fog for Webber, and his spider army is just such a huge boon in Hamlet.

then you'd hate Wagstaff

and Wormwood literally and entirely destroy lush season

i do mean the correct use of the term literally there

like what, sitting indoors for a half hour?

using the mantel that's use is debatable?
