I've been away for some time, do I need to start a new world?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

The last time I played was just after the fossils were added to the game. I have a base around cycle 1200 that's sealed off from space and I had done some rocket missions.

Will I be missing anything new if I continue with that map, or should I start a new one?

Thanks!

If you wait till QoL M3 then you will have some issues if you are in space (dupes won't have the training they once did) so it could cause problems.  Also don't upgrade when you have a dupe out in space on a mission it can crash the game I've heard.

Kinda, in that most of the things added are towards the beginning of the game.

But if you mean will anything be unavailable, I don't believe so.

IIRC Shovevoles were added after fossils, so they'll be missing something that'll protect the surface.

Let's make your decision even harder.

In less than 2 months the game will be full released with 3 more biomes, creatures and watnot.

Or easier. In my case that's a clear "wait for the full release". You aren't really missing any significant content (which is the beauty of Quality of Life updates)

Thanks for the responses, it's getting to be spring time around here which means getting outside more, and less gaming time anyway. I'm just excited to play again with all the changes that have been made. I think I'll take the advice to wait until release.
