Body temperature again

let me explain my plan before asking, first I wanted to raise a central air system for the colony so I create 3 air pumps, one for the other plants and animals for the cosine and manufacturing zone (space clothes, slime, refinery etc). and another for the exosuit closet.

worked very well for some time, but now that area has warmed to 50 ° C and the plants have stopped growing.

I do not know if this was because of the hot water but I put the plants that cool around to see to be solved. anyway this quete water ends up fast even though I use the 3 water sources on that map.

The problem is that the electrolyzer produces gas at 70C (no matter the temperature of the input water), and that is why everything is heating up. Electrolyzers need to be set up in such a way that their oxygen is cooled before you pipe it into your base. This is commonly done with stuff from the "HVAC" research item, but you can also use wheezewarts (though you'll need several)

//EDIT:
A clever way to remove heat is to utilize the input water. Since the electrolyzer will output 70C oxygen no matter what, you can cool machines (such as thermoregulators, or any other industrial machinery) with the water before sending it to be made into oxygen.

Yeah, would be nice if it was just 70°C

A "normal" sealed electrolyzer will output more like 72-73°C.

=> If you feed water near it´s boiling point you will end up with an output up to 76°C

(The electrolyzer got a small storage of water, which is not insulated)

PS: Preheating the water is still a good heatsink, but can break some builds abusing "precise" cooling without in-pipe temperature sensors.

Don't worry about electrolyzer heat, just put some Wheezeworths in strategic places to help reduce heat and to gain some time before heat is critical.

When planning the base, leave enough space for a big radiant liquid pipe loop, and use it to keep the base cool. A negative temperature polluted water loop can chill the base in no time.

This is good advice if you follow it before your whole farm hits 50C... find hot-spots and keep it from getting out of control.... but his problem is going to take some serious correction to keep his dupes from starving.

Some ideas for you to fix the problem:

Short term fix:
dig up 2 plants.
build an ice sculpture.
let it melt.
The cold water will run over all of the plants and cool them down.
Wait until the water has absorbed all the heat it can then mop it up.

That will get the farm up and running immediately.

Long term fix:
Build your farms in a water locked room that can only be accessed with an exosuit. Then you can make the walls insulated tiles and not pump any new gas there. The only thing you have to worry about is putting in the right temperature of water then if it's bristle berries. If it's a plant that doesn't need water then the temperature should be stable forever since the gas will never need to be replaced.

You can get a cold water reservoir in your base. It's only purpose is to provide some temperature stability.
You can run the gas pipes through it. And build metal tiles along one edge where you want the cold to leak into your base. Every other edge would be insulated.

Just build some ice sculptures inside the water tank until it's cold enough, they will melt instantly. You can have an infinite supply of ice to play with if you make a gulp fish ranch underneath a slush geyser.

The water isn't used for anything apart from cooling. All the building materials are stored in there too so any new rooms that are built are already cold. Pump leads to an aquatuner.

You would run oxygen pipes through here too, but I'm using oxylite.

Example if you want unlimited ice:5c02fc48c5024_Industrialicefarm4.thumb.png.bd598ca2838046297cac7e588cf365b6.png

You don't need all the automation, literally just need a box underneath the slush geyser with some fish in it. They'll turn the polluted water into ice and the dupes can pick it up. Ice sculptures are really good for cooling down areas.

Really cheap and lazy way to fix temperature problems.
