A new tempshift substitute?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Before the adding of the tempshift we used the sculpting block with thermally reactive material to convey the heat exchange. With the last QoL patch (296642); Klei add this :

So I could be use for this :

It has the same statistics than tempshift and  is a lot less expensive.

1 Metal block = 400Kg / 3 tiles

1 Tempshift = 800 / tile so 2400 Kg / 3 tiles.

But it's only usefull if you need to travel long distances. It's rarely the case in my opinion.

Edit : I sounded a bit too negative to my taste. It's nice to know if you ever need it.

When I think of it. Would metal tiles not be better with 300kg / 3 tiles ?

I think the weight of marble and metal block doesnt fit for now, as the marble one cost 400kg material for 2x3 tiles, 400kg like the old one (1x3 tiles), so as it still a WIP, hold on ...

Anyway it should cost a lot more material but trading a HUGE decor boost, as its a pimpy shiny thing !

It would even be better by far because the tiles actually connect with each other while buildings do not. Case in point:

Of course it is pretty much pointless to then use gas to connect.

Tempshift plates are for temperature retention (hence more mass is better or same mass compressed) or when tiles which conduct better (for not using gas as intermediary) would be in the way. I'd seriously would like to be told the use of "this"

Yes a huge decor boost, but I prefer to improve the range over the pure decor value to boost the marble block (and add a requirement for a higher creativity skill to carve the sculpture)
