greggbert
First time breaking the surface and the transformer that powers my bunker doors keeps overheating. Is that because vaccum is perfect insulator? Do transformers have to be in a gas? Any other tips to prevent overheating in space would be appreciated. Mullematsch
Buildings will still heat up in a vacuum and there is no atmosphere to cool them down and/or dump the heat into so they will eventually overheat. Filling the area with a gas and cooling that will work. You can also drip a cold liquid on your stuff to cool it down in a vacuum. 0xFADE
Buildings transferring heat in to the ground they are on should deal with most of the problems. I just use hydrogen in a loop to cool the batteries/transformers. It also fuels hydrogen generators to provide backup energy for bunker doors after a long meteor shower. They ramped it up, then scaled it back again. Yup you need to put your battery and transformer in enclosed space with gas on it where they could disperse their heat in the environment. Here is mine even my liquid storage is in a room. I always get overheat damage when it was in space Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96505-heat-generating-buildings-in-space/#findComment-1096378 Share on other sites
