psusi
I have a mealwood plant for my glossy drakeo, and I put a farm station in the room and it is recognized as a greenhouse, but my farmers never go fertilize the mealwood. They happily fertilize the mushroom farm, and bristle berries, but not this mealwood. Can this crop not be fertilized? KittenIsAGeek
Mealwood is intended to be early game. Usually by time I have farmers, I've phased out the mealwood for better foods. Mealwood has the advantage that it grows quick, requires very little dupe interaction, and can be planted as soon as you have the first food research done (cycle 2 is easily possible). It has the disadvantage of being a very poor quality food and it consumes dirt. KittenIsAGeek
Just now, psusi said: Yea, but the glossy drakeos want it. Why should this be the only crop that you can't fertilize? Glossy drekos don't care if its fertilized or not. They eat the plant. A properly balanced dreko farm shouldn't ever see the mealwood reach maturity -- your drekos will keep eating the plant before it gets that far. Yea, but the less mature it is, the fewer calories they get don't they? I haven't tested that. 10 minutes ago, RonEmpire said: odd, my glossy drekos are starving a lot and not eating the plant. (could be bugged) I had that problem for a little while. I had to adjust the number of plants a bit until I got things balanced out right.
