SchlauFuchs
Or can someone explain the developers that it took us long enough to understand Heating before, why making it more incomprehensible? Saturnus
It stands for Duplicant Thermal Unit and equals the amount of heat generated from the genetic ooze if you grind a duplicant into a fine pulp. (not really but it would be funnier if it did) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/94809-can-one-explain-dtu-to-me/#findComment-1077322 Share on other sites
blash365
It's not a developer, but it seems sevio has a pretty good grasp on it. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/94809-can-one-explain-dtu-to-me/#findComment-1077323 Share on other sites
Sevio
Short answer: DTU = Joules renamed. Everything is the same except that most buildings show true heat generation in DTU/s now instead of their 200x smaller value in watts. Leave some feedback in that tread above if you think something should be changed. neoazureus
Yes, is the same, wheezewort cool 2.4 DTU/g/K * 1000 g * 5 K = 12000 DTU(/s), before it was 12000 J(/s), but as @Sevio said, buildings show true heat generation, now we need to do a balance between wheezewort cooling (12 kDTU/s) and true heat generation (kDTU/s) if we need to delete heat with wheezeworts.
