Its probably a torus like most game maps. So if one would remove barriers at bottom and top of the map you would fall thourg the amp forever reacing the top when leving the bottom.

Just putt a hole in the astoriod immage making it apear like a donought and it matches the game perfectly.

What makes ONI's map toroidal and not spheroidal?

edit: nvm the edges don't connect properly unless it's toroidal i see it now

Making a spheroid map of a rechtangle shape is very odd. The question is what happens if  you leave the map at the bottom or top.
On an rectangle represenatation of a spheroid you would leave at one point at the top and enter at another point at the top now moving dornwards (without changing direction).

Just imaginge going to north straigt on earth and continue in a straigt line. Once you reached the pole an continue you never changed direction but now move south. On a rectangualr map of the world it would apper like you did change direction and it would be hart to anticipate where you enter the rectangle top after leaving it as the entire upper edge acctualy reprensets a single point.

More common and much easear to implerment is to leave on top and enter bottom at the same horizontal coordiantes and continious movement remains going up. That would be the topologie of a torus wich i assume.

Still we dont know for shure until we know what happnes if an objects leaves the map on the upper or lower edge.Until then spherorical is still possible as are thousands of topological shapes. The dicovery that you can leave the map left end enter right (remaining direction) only tells us that the map moddels a 3D world of some sort.

Using sandbox to eradicate all the tiles results in everything falling to the bottom and disappearing into the void of your monitor.

Maybe a new movement should be formed, call it the Cylindrical Worlders.  All them Flat Earthers, just aren't thinking outside the box.

Or perhaps, the Donut Worlders, they'd all be fat and have constant constipation.
