thebebinator Posted July 21, 2018 Share Posted July 21, 2018 I have a suggestion to increase base automation. My idea is a mecha-dupe robot. It would do the operate job within a certain radius (similar to the sweeper arm), but have to return to a docking station to recharge electicity and perhaps refuel with some petroleum fuel. This way it would have a downside, but could automate some dangerous or remote tasks for the base. perhpas it could also do tidy tasks. What do you think? Maybe there could be a second option that lets them roam the base and do tasks, and another that lets them roam within a reasonable range of the charge pods. But I do like it as a throwaway worker. Requiring need a little charging station, bot batteries, some oil maintenance and manufactured electronics to get them going. As long as it doesn`t replace the real dupes in all tasks. I`d imagine using the robots in extreme enviroment like near the lava or active volcanoes or on the surface maintaining the solar panels. Would be cool if you just program one task per bot and activate it with automation when needed.
