superhanz
The box is always ticked but it never gets delivered there. You also can't open the sub menu to chose which food they can take. Am I doing something wrong? PhailRaptor
Dreckos do not eat from the Feeder. They eat the live plant, growing in the soil, or in a Planter Box, Farm Tile, or Hydroponic Tile. If Dreckos are listed on the Critter Feeder, it's a bug and needs to be fixed. You should submit a Bug Report in the appropriate forum. As mentioned above, the feeder allowing dreckos to be listed is a bug. They eat the plants themselves. I usually setup a mealwood farm for them to gnaw on. Set it to not harvesting, and the mealwood will usually wait until a drecko comes by and gnaws on the plant a while. They'll also eat Balm Lillies (non glossy only) and pincha peppers. Again, I have to ask, you are saying you can setup a pincha pepper farm in the drecko farm and fill it completely with hydrogen for max effect? I feel like one of us got something wrong here, sorry to ask the same question twice. If you fill a pincha pepper farm with dreckos, they will eat all your pincha pepper plants and you most likely won't gather any peppers, so, yes, that works, if you don't want to actually get any pincha pepper. They eat the plant itself, not anything that comes from it. No, they only eat the progress of the plant, not the entire plant I would also suggest feeding them Bristle Berries over Pincha Peppernuts, It uses less space per plant. less water per plant, and your dupes don't have to be able to reach the plants either, The only difference is that it can handle higher temperatures and you could submerse the entire room in hydrogen. It really is 50/50 choice and I think it would just depend on what you have the most of to use. martosss
So can the Drecko eat a 0% non-growing plant, e.g. you plant something, even though it doesn't have proper growing conditions(Balm Lily in O2 in the middle of your ranch)? Or it needs to eat some percentage in order to regenerate calories(depending on the % it ate)? I guess the 2nd case is implemented... but we can always hope for a 0% "feature" ? Usually I only see dreckos eat a plant once it has reached its second growth sprite, the first sprite being when it is planted. I do not know the % for that. If a drecko is hungry enough it can consume a plant from 99% down to 0% as well. martosss
I was also wondering how to feed those wall-crawling sheep ... now we know - trap them in a dark damp room and plant something they will munch on. You just ignore the Drecko option in the feeder and don't build feeders specifically for Dreckos. SeeHam
what about the wild plants , do two of those grow enough to feed a drecko ? or it will take more cycle for a wild plants to grow enough for one feeding? yoakenashi
12 minutes ago, SeeHam said: what about the wild plants , do two of those grow enough to feed a drecko No, wild plants grow slower so you would require more of them to sustain a drecko - I also assume we are talking about a tamed drecko. Everyone, There's a really great topic out there that covers a lot of information about critters. If you do not know of it already: Essentially you need two plants for regular dreckos and three plants for plastic dreckos. In order to feed solid diet critters, you have to check the box, so that first Dupes will deliver whatever the food item is for the Critter to consume when it becomes hungry.
