Rhymes with Play - Animating at Klei Ep.3: Animation Principles

Recommended Posts

Join our animation team on Twitch this Thursday, March 29th, where we will be breaking down animation principles we follow when creating animations for our titles. This week, we will be focusing on waves and arcs, as we explore the techniques in animation that give movement a more organic feel.

If you've ever wanted to try your hand at animation, join our stream and follow along with us! As always, the Rhymes with Play dev stream will be going live at 3:30 PM Pacific (10:30 PM UTC).

Where is it?

Oh, this sounds very exciting! It will be great fun to watch! I hope particle effects and projectile animations will be included in a future stream. It would be nice to see the creation of the effects from The Forge and how they were done (flickering shiny flames and such). Although it is a good idea to go over the fundamental principles first, especially for clueless people like me. :D

Hey folks, we hope you enjoyed the latest Animating at Klei episode. If you missed the live show, check out the VOD on Twitch where we showed waves and arcs to give animations a more organic feel.

Be sure to join our art streams every Tuesday at 4:00 PM (Pacific) and dev streams every Thursday at 3:30 PM (Pacific).

If you have any fan art that you would like to share with the community, post them on our Art, Music, and Lore sub-forum; who knows, they might be featured in future Rhymes with Play streams.

Since this one was animation-based even tho it was hosted by ONI artists, I figured some people might enjoy this DS wip I've got ;)

Gotta add some more inbetweens in a few places, it's a little fast but I'm liking it so far
