hydrogen chamber blueprint

You could go and utilize a Nullifier.  Current Electrolizer setups can easily output more power than they consume, so you can divert some of the excess Hydrogen into a nullifier instead.  Generally you'll find that each electrolizer could sustain 1 nullifier without interfering too much with it's own self-sustained power.

Little Hydrogen Generator

You can make something like the 1st one with 1 pump + 1 filter + 1 hydrogenerator + 1 electro + 2 wheezeworts

it'll almost self sustain its power + give you lots of oxygen or you can use it to generate hydrogen plus it looks good :D

You need two pumps for an electroliser.

That's a classic oni debate :D

You see 1 or 2 pumps won't make any difference, 2 pumps = more pump idling due to vacuuming the room + higher power usage, 1 pump = higher pressure in room and more electro idling

not a debate, pumps consume 500g/s electro caps at 1000 g/s there is no pump idling in vauuming the room, I've build 20+ massive systems and filed bug reports over it, they work exactly now so its not even about the classic debate.  The classic debate had to use 3 pumps to get around pumps not pulling the full 500 in mixed gas.  Now that is fix so its 2 pumps per electro to get exactly = out and in

are you using doors to pull the oxygen out or something?  Please explain to me how 500 g/s could ever possibly be properly designed to handle a 2000 g/s output, please, atleast a picture without your electros never overpressuring, I would love to see this setup

That system would pull a tiny fraction of the potential of an electrolizer but honestly everyone can play the game how they want to, its not about what could be done its about what works, and 2 pumps on an electro is the optimo everything else is just situational user preference

Sorry @Kabrute but you're talking nonsense... There always has been, and very much still is a divide in mindsets on these forums regarding electrolyzers.

Some prefer to build efficient pump setups, i.e. 2 pumps per electrolyzer (to avoid electrolyzer downtime), and others prefer to have less pumps, but more idle electrolyzer time. Neither school of thought are wrong - they just have different applications. Some prefer to be big naughty cheats and just "bug out" a single electrolyzer and don't concern themselves with either school of thought ;)

Electrolyzers can only output anywhere near their stated 1kg/s if the pressure within the room is low, however - if left to overpressurize/idle, and without a need for excess gasses - you lose nothing by letting them toggle on and off.

Why over produce oxygen/hydrogen if you have no need for it?

More hydrogen for more power? Well you waste power/water by running unnecessary electrolyzers, at which point your 12g/s net gain of hydrogen becomes null and void.

If you do need masses of excess oxygen to maybe, I dunno, do something entirely pointless like oxygenate the whole asteroid (we've all done it at least once...) - then certainly yes, you'd require numerous pumps.

Again, if you were to have a build where your electrolyzers were at the north of your base - on a floor of airflow tiles maybe - and let the oxygen push downwards, whilst having a single pump above to collect hydrogen for power - whats wrong with that build? It would overpressurise at a comfortable pressure for your dupes - it'd self regulate, and it'd provide power. Seems a pretty fine solution if "the perfect efficiency build" isn't your focus. Yeah you may have to run a liquid pipe network, or slap a load of wheezeworts down to cool your dispersing oxygen, and yeah - dupes may get a little sweaty from time to time, but that build could work absolutely fine. I know it does - I've built it. Actually, there aren't many electrolyzer builds I haven't tried - because personally sometimes efficiency doesn't bother me one bit...

Point i'm making is this - telling someone that there is no debate is like telling someone they can't have an opinion. It's crazy. This is a game built on creativity and application for the task at hand - not just "DIS WAY IS DA BEST YOU NUB"...

This is from one of the contributors to the many threads where we as a community debated efficient electrolyzer setups, long before you were a vocal force here on the forums - so you referring to a "classic" discussion really holds little to no weight.

Build what you want - if it get's the job done - it's perfect.
