What is the longest it took you to find a Natural Gas Geyser?

Recommended Posts

Cycle 1 I always cheat and debug explore my map. I'm on a particularly hard seed right now, barely any dirt in the starting biome, only found five hatches so far, but got lucky with shinebugs, too bad they're hard to trap where you want them. My water geysers are all the way out on the edges of the map, and there's hardly any starting water.

Dunno if I'll have a miner that can dig abyssalite before we starve to death.

I have more of a problem finding Steam Geysers. The last game I had was pure hell. I though I found one easy near a Chlorine one that I thought was entombed, but when I dug it out there was no Geyser. I then dug out the whole map and found one after 100 Cycles. I had to wrap around the whole map avoiding Chlorine and Polluted Oxygen in this crazy path to get to it. By that time it was too late because I was running out of Water. I tried to do a direct route to save my base but it went through a huge Slimelung patch. In the end I got it done, but everybody died (4 dupes) from Slimelung since nobody was left to care for them.

I'm on 205 now, and decided just to go for fertiliser synthesisers for the NG. Still no natural gas geyser, though haven't been looking that hard.

Edit: Also had some difficulty finding a steam geyser. I have 15 duplicants lol.

8 months or whatever it was from the time game was released until NG geysers were introduced. :p

Seriously though, if I haven't found 1 by about cycle 150 or so (with reasonable exploring) I give up and go straight into fertilizer makers and just stumble across the geyser later in my game.
