I'm really loving the new solid transfer system at first I was dubious about the job system but conveyors can do a lot of tasks that fill in the gaps. Here's my current debug playground and how things are moving. 1) Dirt and coal are loaded on to conveyors in a main storage area. 2) Dirt is sent to the mealwood farm where the arm will auto fertilize the plants when they require dirt. The same arm is set to pick up meal lice and send them out of the farm. This happens as the farmer cuts the crop. I was able to turn off supply on the farmer and limit room access to only them. You can also see above that coal delivery is automated and I'm playing with the new smart battery. Love that too. 3) The meal lice arrive at the kitchen. The kitchen arm plucks the lice and fills the musher. The chef is then free to cook continuously. I tested it with dirt and mush bars and the arm was on time every time. If you have a constant stream of ingredients for the arm you will max productivity and again save dupe time. The final part of the food chain is that the same kitchen arm will pick up the lice loaf as the chef finishes them and send them downstairs to the mess hall. Another arm puts it away in the fridge because what the hell! I like this update a lot. Conveyors aren't supposed to be able to go through walls, and they said in the live stream they'll fix that asap. I'm pretty sure they said they are supposed to be able to go through walls, like a pipe for solids. The bug was that arms can pick up stuff through walls and that's going to get fixed. Or maybe they'll create a thing that lets you go through walls like a portal. I think the bug was that the robot arm could not reach through walls. Ichikai is correct, the conveyor belts are intended to be on background layer and work exactly like liquid pipes and gas vents, but for solids. Pufts set up -> grab slime on the ground -> transfert it to a Slime Distiller -> grab the algae on the ground -> transfer it to a Algae pump. Yep you have to constantly macromanage jobrotation, when you want more then one dupe, to do the job.. Mining sucks now really too (tierbased). After you polished one researcher, all his experience is useless, when research is done. For me, game slowed down to extreme. To much nasty interaction. I hope that it doesn't stay that way. Since they shrinked mapsize, to improve performance(?), everything is synthetic "stretched" to raise the time, you get to the mapborders (dig out whole map). We got the tubes and noone really needed them, because athletics 25, but removing the buff, to make tubes attractive is not smart. No problem for me. I was more happy with ONI before the Agricultural update, then now,, with all that blingbling stuff. For me ONI was more settlers then factorio/rimworld and that was the reason i liked it. I play factorio/rimworld, when i want. Now things mix up in not the best way for me.. But no reason to complain. ONI gave me most hours fun, i ever had with a game and it was worth every second (when i forget about the last three updates). So much creativity at Klei and they can't find a unique/better way for that precious diamond..
