which buildings output fixed temp products and which don´t - community list

Recommended Posts

That's a tough one - because some of the buildings output at their current physical temperature.

You might be able to assume that anything creating a new product or output / translating from one thing to another and that uses power is producing outputs at a fixed temperature.

So the electrolyzer, water distiller, algae distiller, carbon skimmer..

I know the shower and toilets seem to output water at the same temperature that they are.

I'll start off with what I know and maybe you can start a list.

  1. Electrolyzers output at 75 celsius
  2. Water Distiller output at 40 celsius

good idea.

1. Electrolyzers output at 75 celsius

2. Water Distiller output at 40 celsius

3. Natural generator outputs at same temp they are

4. carbon skimmer outputs at 40 C

5. fertilizer synthesizer - fertilizer 50 C - nat gas 30 C (according to  wiki, might be outdated)

Edit. If u add to this list, use the numbers and I´ll update in the first post.

For the natural gas generator you mean the water or just the C02? If you could use it to give you cold polluted water that would be really helpful.

both, and yes, that´s how it works... U could even produce frozen water, or, potentially, steam

Showers/Lavatories output at 30C

Nope - they output at some weird temperature that is related to input.

Basically, the first time they output anything after construction/loading a save, they set the temperature for their outputs, then they stick to that. It does change very slowly after that, but only when there is polluted water still in the building.

This is obviously a bug and will probably be fixed in next update. Then they will most likely output same temperature as input.

Some other buildings:

  • Petroleum generator outputs at own temperature
  • Compost outputs at 75C
  • Oil well is supposed to output very hot natural gas, but due to the bug above, it will output gas close to own temperature after the first burst
  • Oil refinery outputs at 75C

so is it safe to run geyser water directly to showers/lavatories without cooling the water first (and using insulated/abyalite piping)? this would let me use 90 degree water directly without cooling it, causing some heat destruction. Not sure if the showers/lavatories equipment themselves could overheat?

I don't know if it has been changed but Klei made it so that if water is stored in a building it'll slowly change the temp of the building. With geyser water and lavatories, just putting a weezewort or two worked well.

Fixed in what way? What was wrong with it

Read my post above - that's how the bug worked. Now it doesn't change temperature at all, which is how it was supposed to work.

Algae Distiller

Polluted water 30 C

Algae at 30 C

Lol notice that Algae Distiller dont over heat. My sits at toasty 170 C.

Polymer press

Plastic 75 C

Steam 200 C

CO2 150 C

Petroleum generator same out put temp as temp of the machine.

Actually, I just heard that slicksters output at body temp. Heated slicksters for nat gas anyone?

Oh, must have been changed with the Ranching stuff..?

I re-tested it and can confirm it's indeed Slickster body temp (Flatulent Slicksters!)
