She scooped up a handful of the liquid with her knife, and looked at it wide-eyed.

(I... I... I don't even know anymore 0_0)

Ria and Sunrider were gliding calmly over the forest. That town has got to be around here somewhere, she thought.

There was a cold breeze that swept over them, giving them an uneasy feeling. They both felt each other tense up. "Hmm..." Ria's eyes narrowed as she looked around "It's quiet... too quiet." There was a rustling in the bushes down below. Ria didn't seem to notice it at first but then there was a low growling sound. "Wait" commanded Ria. Sunrider slowed to a stop and hovered, briefly turning towards the sound.

Odd. Whatever it was, it wasn't heading for them like most other monsters but Ria still felt a sense of dread. Then she realized what's going on. Her eyes went wide. "Sunrider! Take us back!" Sunrider roared as they headed back towards the group. "We have to warn them!"

What Mandragora had laying on her knife was some grade A industrial fertilizer, chemicals and all. It was a little wet with whatever the plant creature uses to digest with, and there was a couple of thorny roots sticking out and wrapping around all of it, but it'd work fine. Probably. It'd be like a little thorny fertilizer half digested potato.

Unexpectedly, Maurice started yelling in sheer terror! He ran off, casting a few glances back while doing so.

...Nobody saw or otherwise reacted to the predator. Aaawkwaaard! Well, he needed to explain this stuff to the new guys anyways, but first he had to come to a stop. Fortunately he tripped, making it a lot easier to lose momentum. The monsters were right, the dirt here wasn't half bad!

Ria flew in, rather fast and in a panic (infact, it was surprising they didn't crash land). "Guys we need to get moving, NOW!" There was a thumping in the bushes that felt as if there was a giant. Trees were pushed over as it came closer. Within moments, a very large bat-like creature burst through the last row of trees that separated us from the monster that stood before us.

Spoiler

Kinda like this, appearance wise:

But with some alterations.

"RUN!" Ria shouted, retreating back to Sunrider. The creature lifted it's head to the sky and let out a loud screech. Many miniature bats came flying off it's back, just a bit smaller  than Sunrider.

Ria jumped back on her dragon, ready to defend and/or retreat.

(okay so, the big fella is just barely smaller than trees and the "miniature" bats are almost dragon-sized? Keeping in mind how large Sunrider is in comparison to humans, it makes me confused as to how "many" of those "miniature" bats can be sitting on the "giants" back)

As Mandragora was about to open her mouth to eat, meatperson Maurice had started to run away from them. Had she scared the meatperson by eating her friend’s gift?

She didn’t understand the eating habits of meatpeoples. Why should they understand  the habits of plantpeoples?

Then she heard many trees crumbling around a giant…meat....creature? She was terrified of how easily the beast had smashed through the trees.

“AIIIIIIEEEE!!!” she screamed in fear, and hopped to her plantcreature friend, and panicked, dropping the Grade-A industrial fertilizer puddle on the soil.

It seemed like the plantcreature was the only brave person of the group, but he still wanted to protect the people who gave him food sometimes and his friend, so he began growling at the beasts to keep them from coming closer, and spat in their eyes just to spit in their eyes.

(I was thinking the size of a toadstool. I don't want him to be too small)

The smaller bats flew towards the people, biting and scratching. Sunrider dodged a couple before becoming airborne.

"Look out!" Ria shouted. Sunrider turned and managed to react just in time. He grabbed the bat by his talons and  threw it towards the ground. Then another came at him. Sun sent a fire blast to it's face, stunning it momentarily. It went down. Another bat was gliding nearby. It looked like it was waiting for a moment to strike. Sunrider took on the offensive and dashed towards it, slicing it viciously with his claws.

"Good work Sunrider" Ria said "Now we must help the others" Sunrider turned and returned to where the group was.

Mandragora and the leaf creature were too small to be noticed by the bat creatures but they were dangerously close to the giant one.

(Two what?

What?

The bats.

...

sorry for the misunderstanding

that's still small enough to not be noticed (also you're considered monsters so...)).

The plantcreature couldn't say he wasn't dissapointed by the fact that he wasn't being noticed by all the batsenpi, and his pride was lowered that day. But still, this fearsome creature in front of him had to be dealt with! He mustered up all the courage he could and then barked at this silly monster's face.

[wait does this mean sunrider is the size of a toadstool]

(Toast, the thing's back is covered in smaller bats.  Each of those bats is the size of Sunrider.  The giant bat is the size of a toadstool.)

While all of this happened, Maurice was somewhere between trying to recover from the nutritious soil eating incident and trying to stay on low profile, though convinced that flight would be safer than fight in this case.

(Thank you for explaining that)

The giant monster heard a small barking noise and turned it's head to the source of the sound. It took a couple steps back and lowered it's head. There it was, face to face with a puny little leaf dragon.

It breathed right in it's face. The smell was horrid and it's drool was glowing (perhaps it was poisonous?) It reared it's head and wings and screeched. Just then, a smaller bat monster landed next to Mandragora and the leaf dragon, growling and ready to strike.

(And just because I love you guys ^_^)

As Maurice tried to run, one of the bats landed in front of them, screeching.

"Curses!" Maurice assessed the situation. What strengths did he have? He was a damn reporter, so none. Yes, he was truly damned. What weaknesses did- Those beasts are unknown to him, there's no way he could guess.

The bat did not wait for the madman to finish and launched its first attack, which barely missed.

Was it even a bat? It sure looked like one with the snout and wings and ears... Ears? If there was one thing Maurice was good at that could at least disable the fierce foe, then it was yelling.

And thus, Maurice made his title as "madman" all honours and burst out in a battlecry so blaring loud, even humans would cringe if close enough. Not waiting for an reaction, Maurice stepped towards the attacker to force it to retreat... hopefully.

A rogue bat landed a little ways away from where Tim was hiding. The bat began to sniff the air. He could smell fear a human nearby.

The leaf dragon wasn't able to inflict much damage but the attack made the bat recoil in shock and confusion. It was short-lived however as the bat came back, more enraged. It began snapping at the leaf dragon and Mandragora.

The bat attacking Maurice was thrown off but his loud battle cries. The monster just tried screeching back, louder and more threatening.

Mandragora hopped back as quickly as she could to avoid being bitten, so fast that she lost her balance and fell on her back.

She stood up and looked at the soil she landed on. It was loose.

She scooped up a spoonful of it.

“Meanie meatcreature!! Leave my friend alone!!” she yelled to get its attention, and used Sand-attack flung it at its face.

The bat watched as the leaf dragon circled it. Then it had dirt thrown at it. It spun back around to Mandragora and screeched. Then it lunged at her, picking her up and flying off.

(I hope this isn't character control 0_0)

Sunrider and Ria saw the bat flying off with Mandragora. "Sunrider!" Ria pointed and Sunrider knew what to do. He flew in closer and sent a fire ball at the bat. The bat screeched in pain, dropping Mandragora in the process. Sunrider swooped down and caught Mandragora on his back.

"Heh, you alright there?" Ria smiled.

---

The bat sniffing out Tim was dangerously close to the tree he was hiding behind. The bat almost found him but was suddenly hit by fire. The bat screeched and flew away.

Sunrider landed in the middle of the clearing. Ria jumped off with Mandragora and put her on the ground, knowing she isn't comfortable around them yet. "It's no use!" Ria said "Every time we knock them down, they recover too quickly and resume attacking! We gotta get out of here!"

Sunrider saw the bat and Maurice screaming at each other. He snuck up behind the bat and roared. As the bat turned, Sunrider b*tch slapped scratched the bat across the face. The bat was knocked to the side. He soon recovered and screeched at Sunrider before flying off.

(I hope this isn't too confusing. The post is kinda all over the place :/ )

The leafy creature had no idea Mandragora was safe, as he was staring up at the sky where he'd last seen her, barking, whining, howling, rolling on the floor, and crying like crazy.

"Wahh! Come back! Friend miss muchness! Waah! Waaaah! No fair! No fair!"
