I think Abigail was killed in a tragic molehill cave-in accident.

It was a day like any other. Abigail was out playing in the large back yard when she saw something pop its head up out of the ground: a mole. She'd heard her father and mother complaining about the havoc the little devil had been wreaking on their garden, and curious, she observed it for a moment, until it popped back into the soil and started off in the direction of its home. The inquisitive Abigail pursued, following the sounds of its claws ripping through the grass's roots until she came upon a particularly large stack of displaced dirt. The sounds of digging went silent and her query didn't poke its had back up through the earth, so Abigail got down to her hands and knees, leaning down to peer into the abyss. All at once, the ground began to give, and the myriad tunnels beneath her started to collapse. It was over in moments -- a near crater opened up where the hole had previously been, dust clouding around its gaping maw. Abigail was nowhere to be seen.

Abigail just randomly punks off moles that get too close to her, what's that about

A fun theory, but what's the evidence? Or is it just a fun head canon (because if it is just that, I like it in a way)?
