Beefalo Riding and stuff.

Beefalo riding was a part of the Through The Ages dlc that we were given a small taste of, which is dst only content. The one working on beefalo domestication is on paternal leave, so Klei has to finish domestication and push out that update when he returns.

Yes, but still:

I don't understand how or why companies even split up content over console/pc/mobile or in this case, singleplayer and multiplayer.

Beefalo riding would be so amazing. But for people like me who prefer DS Singleplayer (or just can't find people to play with at times)

this is incredibly frustrating.

Because "things" are different between the two. Because one cannot simply "do" a "thing" from one to the other.

Klei has important things to work on right now. You know, averting skincidents and the likes. Besides, they'd probably prioritise other, more implicated content. The list of "things" that need to be "done" at some point is quite long.

I believe he was referring to the fact that changes liked doubled monster health and questionable character re balances would make it less than preferable to treat a LAN server like singleplayer.

single player did get shipwrekt though... and i think they said something about not porting that to dst (at least anytime soon)? don't quote me on that one though, i could be wrong. that being said, there could still be more on the way for singleplayer which they haven't announced yet! 

There are definitely some things they should port over, like 8 way walls and the high resolution clothes and items (I made a mod for this), but game changing mechanics are questionable. It matters only if adding that feature would be valuable to singleplayer.

I believe it has been said on multiple occasions  on why this could not be, mainly to do with the code from the original game just would never work in multi player.

It's not an unreasonable request to want to ride Beefalos in DS Singleplayer, alongside the inclusion of other DST elements such as skins and Larva eggs. At this point, I'm pretty sure Klei is just doing this for money reasons. They stopped updating DS because you've already bought it, which is a shame cause there is still so much potential there.

But I guess they stopped caring about making the greatest singleplayer game of all time...
