Okay, now Kate was even more confused. Why was Meri talking about medicine? All Syndir said was that he was going to make coffee.

Coffee? Oh no...Angelle knew how Famen acted with coffee around. She continued to gnaw on her bone on deck.

Syndir tossed his hands into the air. "Mr. Crabbit beast, I'm simply offering a beverage to those willing to try!" He exclaimed to Meritursas. "I think you're just jealous that I don't have a cup large enough for the likes of you! These emotions are perfectly natural when it comes to coffee, but you mustn't ruin it for the rest!"

Wiffleball was mildly annoyed at Syndir's condescending attitude, but decided to just bear it instead of protesting. He returned to Kate and sat down next to her.

Mark wanted to express his dislike for the bitter drink, but he could still only hiss...

He'd probably be better the next day. Oh, how he wished the day'd be over soon.

Kate wondered why her dad would drink putrid bile every morning. She also wondered what "putrid" and "bile" were. They sounded like bad things though.

Famen stands up, clutching onto his chest. There was no damage to his body, but the pain from the hallucination still remained. He went up on deck, leaning over the railing, facing Meritursas.

"so...what did...you find?"  Meritursas asks.

"I saw...the life of another Tursai...through the potato..."

[Battal]

(Another line which would sound completely insane out-of-context.)
