A large head slithers out of a small hole next to the creature's throat, and it swims up to Famen.  It's around twice his size.

"Now, let's see what your problem is."

It unfolds a pair of arms and tries lifting Famen off the rock.  The resulting scream of agony makes it quickly put him back down.

"Meri, are you sure this guy'll be helpful?"

48 minutes ago, MenaAthena said:

Eventually the dragon finished cleaning off the deck and anyone who got particularly messy, and plopped down at the end of the ship with a grunt. After a moment of examining her leg wound, she started licking it. She wasn't sure why she, and other animals for that matter, often had the urge to lick their wounds. She assumed it wouldn't be an instinctual action if it didn't have a purpose though.

(Reminds me of my cat Ahah)

How about introducing yourself?

"Ah yes, introductions!" Syndir exclaimed. "Listen up fellow peons—and goddess," He spoke the last part in a far more polite manner, "I'll only be saying this once, so pay attention! I am none other than the great Syndir Flare—humble servant to her flamelyness—and I am less than impressed with the events that took place in her presence! Truly outrageous! Truly!"

"niella...please."  Meri interrupts.  "wait...week.  maybe...get...better."

He doesn't sound very hopeful, but the Tursai relents anyways.  "Alright...for you."  It slinks back into the shadows.  The smaller Tursai gives him a sad glance, then swims away as well.

Famen starts to fall asleep...until the Thing is swept out of his claws by the current.

Syndir froze in place. His speeches had never succeeded to gathering the attention of those around him before. It was slightly unnerving.

That's because you used to "speak" to obsidian boulders...

"Don't tell them that!" Syndir blurted out accidentally, and then quickly improvised. "...Don't tell them—the others... about the info I am about to disclose... my secret recipe... COFFEE!"

Kate's dad used to make coffee every day before work. You just put the coffee powder and water in the coffee maker, and then hot coffee dripped out the top into the pot. What was so secret about it? Although admittedly, she was a little curious, as her dad never let her try the dark brown beverage. Maybe Syndir had a way to make it so kids could drink it?

"What the heck is this guy blabbering on about?" Kade questioned, having gone back to normal with the return of Kate's sanity.

Wiffleball turned his attention away from Jaw, satisfied that he'd made amends. He'd find a way to apologize to Gilda later. Right now, though, Syndir was making a speech of some sort, and he intended to listen, if only to be polite. He caught something about Syndir's name, an apology, and...coffee recipes? What was up with this guy? Still, Wiffleball figured it would be best to make a good impression on him. He walked down the steps to the cargo hold, then returned with a small, red chunk of coral, which he brought to Syndir.

Syndir turned to the... plant?...and gave them a piece of his mind, "Coffee is love. Coffee is life."

"Now now, no need to make hasty decisions! Chances are you had ill-made coffee! I on the other hand am an expert!"

Then he looked upon the plush which seemed to be offering him coral, which he accepted promptly.

Already they shower me in gifts! ha! Ha! HA! HAHAHA!

His laughter left his thoughts and exited his mouth before he could intervene—in fact he didn't even notice.

Syndir took a few steps back nearly walking right off the boat. He was more of a cat person than a... nightmare person?

"Calm down, little critter," Syndir tsked, keeping his staff between him and Noctimus, "I'm sure we can get you some coffee as well! How does that sound little pal?"
