After the third or forth rock, Wiffleball started to feel quite lightheaded. Okay, sure, maybe he was a bit woozy, but he could still do this! He stumbled to his feet, holding out his arms to steady himself. The faster he made it to the mainland, the sooner he would be able to rest. He readied himself, then lurched forwards and onto the next rock.

Five, six, seven...he lost count. His jumps became sloppy and uncoordinated, each one bringing him a little closer to the waters below.

Gilda swam over to the plant. It didn't seem to be doing a good job at swimming... Oh. That's right. It couldn't swim. Gilda gestured to her waist, in an effort to get the plant thing to grab on.

Wheke shrugged. "I'm interested to learn more about mateship, I'm not entirely sure it means what I think it means."

Wheke paused.

"I also have a question. How can you tell which gender each of your species is?....."

Trevor's face brightened up and he hugged Wheke. "Thank you. Really." Trevor said as happy as he could. "Also, you can tell human genders apart by facial features and voice mostly."

Noctimus squeaked in alarm in Wiffleball's direction to hopefully have New Master save him.

Water. WATER. EVERYWHERE. Mark tried to hold his breath as much as he could, but it was hard. His heart started beating faster. He was trembling and would probably be sweating cold if out of water. He needed to get out.

It itched everywhere. It was unbearable.

Mark saw Viridis sinking and he wanted to help her, oh how he wanted to help her... but he knew if he remained more time inside the water he would...

Well, but she's a plant, so maybe...

No. He'd rather not risk it. He'd just call the others to help her once he surfaced, but it seems like that fish lady was already helping her out. He would've sighed... but he was still underwater.

He started swimming upwards and used his umbrella's handle, which he was still holding on to, to grab on to the island's edge.

He pulled himself upwards and surface, he then immediately proceeded to inhale as much as air as he could. Swee, sweet air.

He climbed onto the island and laid on the ground taking heavy breaths. It was over, it was over. He didn't drown. It was fine. Viridis was going to be okay, she was being helped. They'd all be alright.

And the itch he felt in his entire body continued.

(Well, now he's Lord Battal, am I right?!

...I need a turn with the bat. Pass it here.)

The overexertion was getting to be too much for Wiffleball. He could hardly see where he was jumping, since his head spun so badly. Only the thought of reaching his destination kept him going. Where was he going to? That question didn't matter. All that mattered were the rocks, stretching out in a line to infinity.

He made another jump, too dazed to realize that from where he was standing, he was going to miss the rock completely.

And miss it, he did, landing into the lagoon with a splash. Too exhausted to move, he simply floated there.

"And a few other things"

("Yeah, girls generally have more high-pitched voices and longer hair.  Males usually have deeper voices and shorter hair.  Cultural stereotypes and all that.")

Finally came up with a clever response to this.

Gilda swims up to the surface, using a rock to help pull them both to the surface.

they sink instantly

Meritursas gets free, and pokes his head out of the water.  "this...is where we part ways."  He says.  "again.  be careful."

(Trevor expresses huge amounts of disgust for the relationship habits of a race that doesn't even mate, directly before telling a genderless octopus/human monstrosity that he loves them.  Wth Trevor.)
