Gilda held the steering wheel so tightly her claws got stuck in the wood when the beast reared its head out of the water. Food?! It really wanted to devour them.

However it wasn't attacking. It had to be a sick game. Gilda was mulling over many thoughts when the beast spoke. It wanted food in return for transportation? Gilda wasn't sure what to think about that.  She supposed it was fair. But could it be trusted?

"help...for...food."

"take...you...place..."

(As proven by the two posts above, this could have been better worded. It could mean either he wants our help getting food and will take us to where the food is, or that he'll help us go places in exchange for food.)

(Meritursas has never talked before.  His grammar is worse than Jaw.)

Meritursas seems frustrated.  "i...know...safe place.  take...you...there...you...give food."

{I'm pretty sure I called this scene in my drawing. X3 Jkjkjk}

"... Did he just promise to give the gigantic, man-eating monster food that we don't have?" Yup. Maybe leaving this decision up to the captain wasn't the best idea. After all, he was the one who had come up with the brilliant idea of getting into the water with the gigantic, man-eating monster right after running away from it in the first place. Why were we following this guy again?

Gilda was clutching the wheel so tightly she thought her claws would come out the other side. She made unintelligible Merm gargles and shook her head. Maybe if they got to shore, away from the beast they could collect food and satiate its hunger. Or just never leave the island. That would work too.

Kade looked around at the people on deck. "Hey, where's the bunny plush?" Kate realized that she hadn't seen it since the monster attacked. Had her little friend been knocked over? Did he float away on the ocean while everyone was distracted? Increasingly concerned, she started walking and scanning the boat when she bumped something away with her foot. She chased after it a little ways and caught it, picking it up to feel what it was. It was a little spool of thread with a needle stuck in it. Maybe it belonged to the plush.

She walked to where she had found it and looked up, seeing an orange shape on the sail. It's him! He must have gotten stuck there in all the commotion, but now how was he going to get down? Neither Kade nor she could possibly climb up there, so she looked around at the rest of the group to see who she could ask. Trevor was downstairs sleeping. She wasn't sure she trusted the "captian's" decision making abilities. The dog was still a dog even though he was orange and could talk, and she was still pretty sure dogs couldn't climb sails. Probably. The green lady was too busy being terrified. The giant monster would probably just knock the sail down... Geez, wasn't there anyone an eight year old girl could ask to help get her plush unstuck from a sail?! The last one left was the bluish guy that talked funny. He'd have to do.

She walked up to the... fish man? Yeah, fish man, and tapped his arm to get his attention, then pointed up to her orange fluffy friend.

(Wow, long post is long. and not the bestly written.)
