One of my biggest pet peeves in DST is that you spend awhile looking at the server list trying to find somewhere that has a good ping etc. You finally join a server and you get banned within 30 seconds. I'm always polite - I say hi. I genuinly want to play with other people. I've got over 300 hours DST time under my belt. Yet I still get banned randomly. I feel if people want to play with just their friends then maybe they should take advantage of the password protection and use it so innocent people don't feel frustrated like this. It annoys me big time. Anyone else experience this? At least here you'll know people are actively trying to start a community within their respective servers, and you'll probably get more details than you would if you just clicked randomly in the in-game server list. Sadly the latter is extremely hard because nightmare monsters are a thing. Sometimes it was warrented because I didn't pay attention to the server title which said something in brackets like french speakers only, other times it was kinda random. Now I have a selection of dedicated servers I regularly select, or I might follow a friend into a game. Dedicated servers don't usually have admins on them, so nobody is going to ban you, but on the down side nobody is going to ban the griefers either, and sometimes there is just alot of empty dedicated servers, depending on the time of day. Just sort your list by ping and keep trying. I mean yes, they should put a password. Not all of them ban you because they dont know how to put password. Some of them may have experienced a griefing 5 minutes before your arrival to the server, so they just simply ban you. Yes again they can make it private but whatever... Their server and their rules. If you wanna play on a server, find people who you can play with. Playing with random people may cause this issue. Hang out on dedicated public servers for some time and you will eventually find someone who are nice to you.
