AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADVENTURE MODE! should not be in.

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I only played Adventure Mode probably 3 times.

I did it once with Wilson

Once with Maxwell

And once with the Gordon Freeman character mod.

Other than that Adventure Mode would need lots of reworking for map, balancing, teleportato range for changing between worlds, adjustments to the teleportato inventory mechanic (I think it should either that every players have their own 4 slots or that all players have to agree on which things should go in) and not to mention that the Ending basically is basically only would work for Singleplayer. In Multiplayer, the game would need the players to do something related to the throne (I think a race with marble armor would be fun, but so would a boss fight where the boss targets a single person and if the person dies, they randomly chose another player).

boss fight

Yes to boss fight!!

May I?

So, assuming adventure mode/caves will be added in the up coming dlc, (or further updates) Maxwell is released from the Nightmare Throne (apply all implications with meeting the other puppets)

Possible scenarios:

  1. Maxwell tricks the other puppets (wins over their trust) to help him enter the portal for reasons
  2. Charlie... is the new captive of the throne and asks them to save her... (cinematic?)

Adventure mode... upon reaching the nightmare throne, they see Charlie locked in it...

Suggestion from the top of my head...

Wortox appears... boss battle, all the players use everything in their arsenal to combat Wortox who summons nightmare creatures and Krampus! (Krampus sack sold separately)

(not implying that Wortox is the boss of... "them" but maybe a corporeal representative?)

Alright, I need coffee O__O

I'm just wondering how the death mechanic would work should it remain the same. Will Ghosts be allowed (Survival rather than Endless), or would it be Wilderness to sort of mirror the fact death is supposed to be a punishment? Does everyone have to be alive for the Teleportato to function, if it goes the Survival route?

At the same time, will there be more pieces to find, as if there's only 4, you could all just go separate ways and have it completed in probably half the time. Or will it be a Wilderness-esque in which everyone starts in different locations and need to find the Teleportato and all go through at once?

Endgame will need to be different though, definitely, as hilarious as being Maxwell and his ragtag team of Maxwells on a quest to dethrone Maxwell would be.

Personally, I think it would have to be... Wilderness spawn though not to any extreme (the general idea is to take away a central landmark), with survival mechanics (set to be more punishing).

Alternatively... maybe it's something slightly different. Near permanent death, until escape. No Telltale hearts. All other resurrection methods still apply.

Another fun alternative. PvP adventure mode. Only one divining rod key exists. The player (or players) who are able to bring it to a completed teleportado, get to bring some items with them (and maintain some knowledge). They get to start the next world with an edge.

Personally, it doesn't need to have a storyline. Maybe the players just want to play with Adventure world mechanics.

As above, but altered, 6 worlds, 6 players. One player must be killed off per world, for the rest to travel, at the end, only one shall make it, and after the fight, chooses either Charlie or Wortox, a clientside character, for all servers, but! There's a twist. You LOSE the character you beat adventure mode with, and can only have either Charlie or Wortox, a possible way around, beat with Wilson, get Wortox, beat with Wortox, get Wortox, and the same for Charlie, effectively there is a way to get them all... after 4 successful PvP runs. COMPLETELY UNRELATED - In one of the WIlliam Carter puzzles, at the carnival, starring Charlie, Maxwell, most likely Wolfgang and Wes, it mentions "That old guy at the front barely made it!", possibly referencing Wallace. Each of them came to Maxwell for a different reason, and were forced in. I can't figure out how to do a spolier, so this is kinda stuck there.

You need to go into Special BB Code in the top left corner. It is the weird blue and green box. Select "Spoiler" and enter text in the box provided.

@T4T3RGR3NAD3R, "sink" as in drop down in the listing of threads, because of lack of new posts. "necro" means to bring back an old thread by replying long after the last post was made. This one had a gap of 22ish days, so it's a bit on the edge whether you'd consider it a necro or not.
