So i'm not sure how people know about this but when near a harvest-able,or pick-able item you can tap the space bar and it will pick or harvest that item.Good for the people who want to harvest or pick up items more quickly such as after breaking a boulder or harvesting your close quarter grass or twig farms.

NVM the reaction time between each command is slower than if you were to just spam click to pick up items but it seems to be more efficent for harvesting grass and twig farms.

If you're feeling really lazy, equip a Luxury Axe, find a copse of trees that are reasonably close together, and hold down Spacebar for a while. Auto-clear-cutting, baby. Just don't forget to whip out the Shovel when you're done (this can also be done by holding down the spacebar for a bit, you lazy, lazy bum, you).

I use spacebar to fight spiders because clicking is unreliable. Sometimes you end up just walking right into them all, especially since 8 come out at once now. Its also good for fighting other mobs where u have to kite them, and run in to hit them.

My favorite is when you run up, press space... and pick up a monster meat instead of swinging.

Just be careful using it in combat; your character will prioritize any havestable/pick-up-able objects over attacking. So, make sure your combat/kiting path is clear or you'll end up taking damage just like you would have by mis-clicking. I found that out the hard way by trying it out on a Spider Den in a dense forest with saplings and grass and flowers laying about. Goodbye, Football Helmet, I hardly knew ye. :(

Huh? Spacebar does the opposite for me, it always prioritizes attacking over looting, even when I'm literally standing on a pile of items. And this situation occurs quite often when I'm fighting spiders. Just press spacebar when you're in range to actually attack the enemy. If you're too far from it, then yeah, the game will naturally think that you meant to do something else.

As I said above, for me spacebar never makes me attack monsters, only pick up items, or just do nothing if there's nothing to pick up. Wierd.

Are you holding a weapon?

It just depends how close you are.
