Hey there! Bet you didn't expect me to be here, after months of inactivity! (Or you may just not know who I am as a forum persona).

I come here to tell you guys that we've decided to re-open the good ol' Dapper Den through the forums again! It was open all the time, of course, but now we're thinking of changing towards a more... active, and gaming oriented plan.

To be exact, we are planning to host scheduled and non-scheduled TF2 events, MC events, and we are planning to get a new modded MC server. (Alongside the already-hosted vanilla server, using the latest snapshot)

You can access all this info at the Steam Group page at http://steamcommunity.com/groups/dapper_den

for the low price of 19,99$. Or just for a click on the link, if you're into that kind of stuff. For now this whole process is only slowly starting up (as I'm writing this currently), but we're hoping for the pillars of community to support our little group.

For the newcomers:

Dapper Den is an unofficial group dedicated to Don't Starve, where you can chat, talk, and all that stuff. It's based on the app called 'Raidcall' (download links below). Nowadays we're not as much about Don't Starve, even though a word of it comes across from time to time. But basically we just talk, AFK, have fun, argue, and everything that a group does we do here too. For even cheaper.

Download Links / General Links:

http://www.raidcall.com/ <- Download for the Raidcall app, no worries, it's totally harmless. Just follow the instructions.

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/dapper_den <- Our Steam Group! It's not our main place of action yet, but keep up with this one too, mainly for the gaming events and stuff.

http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198049593666/ <- My personal profile link, use it if you need to ask me something private on this matter, installation of the Raidcall app, or such things, or just come talk to me here because I won't be on the forums for too much, as always, gotta keep my deadness with me.

Our ID in Raidcall: 5604121 (You enter this number into Raidcall when you are trying to find us)

We hope to see you here soon! :-)

EDIT: Fishiron has stated http://prntscr.com/3tgnq4 his words overwrite all above.

We already have tf2 events though

Then have more! *Pours TF2 events*

No, really, you can have your events, and I'll just try to work in as much of a synergy with these forums as I can. I mean, I'd love to have some tournaments or something, but we're still in the early stages.

I joined a call once, got nervous and had to bail out. Too many people for me :(

Aw. Just mute the others' mics and pretend you're not there :D Everybody does it. Lol, no, really, we don't have that many people on, like 11 max with 2 being AFK during the most important conversations for now. Usually the big chats happen at like 11 PM GMT.

I was getting interrested until I saw the time: why does everything always happen at 11PM GMT?!

We don't know YET whether it'll be 11 PM, it can range from 9 PM to 12 AM or even bigger of a range. Unless the time zone is your problem, can't change that, sorry :D Gotta move to a different country first.

Yeah thats....a lot of people. I have really bad social anxiety so I have trouble with 1 on 1 stuff.

Also for the OP, why isnt this done through skype? you can have groups and everything and more people have it

Actually, you'd need to ask that question to the founders of the group: Moonkis, Leapster, and maybe Velcraft (dunno really, just ask Moonkis I guess), I'm just an admin there who decided to try to revive stuff

EDIT: Imo though, Raidcall is a much better app for these things, it has a lot more options and settings for interaction with the community, and even though its in a beta-like stage, its developing new features which are proving to be useful.

Are any of them still alive? If they are they probably aren't very active, i barely see them in the Den.

Well, they are definitely dead in the Den, but you can get their contact info from the Steam group Den and comment on their profile or something. I dunno.

Skype isn't very friendly for anonymous communities. Small groups of friends, sure, but there's still a lot of maintenance to keep stuff running--whereas something like Raidcall, TeamSpeak and Ventrilo all are designed for organising people into different 'micro calls' whilst all being apart of the same channel.

I personally hate Skype because of how much bandwidth it wants - particularly upload (of which I have none of).

Am I wrong? I've tried Skype as an alternative and seen some people make it work but I'm awfully familiar with the other programs by now, so, maybe I'm biased?

Also, is this for Australia at all? I'd participate but my country prohibits me from having any kind of active gaming relations with the rest of the world, i.e. not a chance of me playing with you guys.

RaidCall is fo WINDOWS??!!??!?!

I own a mac.

Would TeamSpeak be a viable alternative?

Unfortunately, we have no plans for using TeamSpeak. I can't grant you my word that this works for sure, but see http://taracque.hu/raidcall/ be warned though, use this at your own risk. I really don't know how will this work or whether it WILL work at all.

Can't really tell, not australian and I don't know any australians in the group. Sorry  I will ask around though
