Whats your Don't Starve record, and with what Character?

Recommended Posts

Currently on day 40ish in RoG with Wilson. I changed some of the settings to make the game harder and more enjoyable to my liking. Turned up spiders, tallbirds, clockworks, and hounds to more. I also changed the settings for each season and made them VERY short. Roughly every 5-6 days it changes seasons which I find more fun/difficult because I start to lose interest with the same season for 20+ days. I recommend seasons on very short if you are looking for a challenge or want to try something different.

I used to change a lot of the setting to make it harder but then all the monsters like Clockworks, Spider Etc. Starting spawning everywhere and I died pretty quick, so I don't mess around anymore

It seems that when ever I make a base I never leave it, and I suck at planing trips, but I will probably adventure more now and maybe even have multiple bases or something,

Thanks though

Yeah don't be afraid! All you need is some basic materials (flint, twigs, grass and logs) to craft tools, fires, and fire if needed. In summer, a couple of nitre are required for endothermic fire. Tips: bring a hammer and hammer the endothermic fires before leaving, you will get 1 nitre back + some other materials!

Bring some food, but not too much (you will find some on your way).

Bring a weapon and armor, some seasonal clothing if needed.

Another tip is to bring either a miner's hat or moggles, as they can save you if you are stuck without crafting mats! Put them in the slot right next to weapon slot (easy access). Also, healing item (healing salve or honey poultice) are a good idea but not ''necessary''

You don't need anything more than that! =) Good luck!

Thanks, I will explore on my Webber world once I'm done with Adventure mode, Darkness is very hard, and I will hopefully survive, there are like 6 hounds and a Varg after me... I am so dead :D

The awesome thing about "more" clockworks is that they spawn the fatass charging guys almost everywhere, which will destroy trees and rocks if you kite them, saving your tools. They also start sh*t with everything around them so you can find plenty of meat/spider stuff just laying around as you travel..

At first it may be somewhat annoying and difficult but you can easily take advantage of the drops.

Yeah I guess so, I still don't turn up or down any mobs, but thanks

One tactic you can try if you like to stay in base a lot is to set up camp near a wormhole.. on one side you can have your base, and if you hear a giant begin to growl you can jump through the wormhole straight away, forcing it to spawn away from your camp.

Huh, i hadn't thought of that, thanks :D

I'm current on day 217 with Wigfrid. I'm pretty safe at the moment. I can handle hounds with just a battle spear and battle helm.

I did just lose both my touchstones by going down to the ruins. First time down there for an extended period. Tried to man mode Ancient Guardian and paid heavily for it =/. The game should really not randomize whether your armor or helm takes the initial damage.

Its not random, i think the second one you equip takes the initial damage.

HOLY **** day 217, What?How?When?Where? I have only survived until day 160....

I read that somewhere and I also read that it was random somewhere else xD. I guess I'll thoroughly test it out later haha.

This is probably my longest play through. My second longest was around 70 days with Wendy but I wasn't paying attention and forgot to equip my log armor while farming spiders. I wasn't too good at kiting back then. Wigfrid is awesome for practicing kiting. Thanks to her cheap helm, mistimed kites are pretty forgiving.
