Strange coincidence (I think)

He's rebuilding Maxwell's Door? But why?

Maybe he thinks that will help him get back, but we all know it leads to Adventure. Maybe the puzzle has something to do with the main story of Adventure mode or more backstory.

In game it leads to adventure mode. However, if I remember correctly (correct me if I'm wrond), Maxwell ''gave'' Wilson the instructions to build the first door, which brought him into Don't Starve world. He might be able to escape if he finds a way to build another door but this time, leading back to his original world!

Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that there would now be 2 doors, or twin doors, one in his original home and one in Don't Starve world. The twin doors would be linked together, just like Pollux and the other guy are holding hands in the constellation. That might be what gave him the idea in the first place!

I may have just given a pretty big clue for the puzzle. Or at least I think I did.

Haha, I don't think he is rebuilding the Maxwell's door, but building his own one. Wilson's door is ahead !

If we think logically... Maxwell never built a door himself, unless the one that you find that goes to adventure mode could be the one HeE built. Wilson himself built the door that led him to the world, and now he's trying the same thing only with a bit different ingredients. Dunno where that's gonna lead him. But why is this called the Forgotten knowledge instead of Forbidden knowledge if it's still a door to a new world?
