??? No, I actually don't use turf for fuel. I don't because I don't want my world to look featureless. I only use it as fuel if I dig up a certain turf so I can replace it with wooden turf of marble turf or anything like that. Pointless concern, no need to change this.

Turf should have more impact, such as trees growing faster if planted on the proper biome turf. But as long as turf is essentially decorative, then changing forks is pointless.

I agree with this. Turfs really ought to have some sort of an effect on the world. Forest makes trees grow faster. Grass spawns more flowers in the summer. Rock makes it harder for fires to spread. etc.

Eh, the pitchfork is pretty much a craft and forget it tool for me.  Like Boar Head, I usually only use turf as fuel to get rid of it after I've dug it up to lay down flooring.  I did find it amusing that I could use rocky turf for fuel, though.

You can make fire with peat (? i'm not sure of the word. In french, it's "tourbe" and its something you extract of earth and it could be use as fuel for fire.)

 

I think maybe it is why you can burn turf.

I doubt that a tool that has been usable even before the release of the Beta is going to be changed when you mention your opinion about it in this section of the forums.
